Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!
Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?
The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.
Ooh, but wait! There's more!
Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).
Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!
Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!
Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!
Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!
Just smell those new pages!

Rickle's Book is amazing. It's by Don Rickles who is a comedian and it's basically him telling a lot of short stories about his life and what he has done. There are a lot of stories about him and other celebrities of the time like the Rat Pack too.. Very good read.

Dune! I'm an old school sci-fi nerd who grew up on Herbert and Heinlein. Dune will always have a special place in my heart (and yes, I know the whole fear is the mind-killer speech...which actually only shows up in its entirety once and isn't even spoken by Paul or Leto!)

The Mortal Instruments series. I love anything fantasy wise but this series takes the cake. Its full of drama, plot twists and romance all with a very good tied together ending!

The Chronicles of Narnia. I love it because when i read it is like entering on your own adventure, is amazing, and is something you can't never experience while watching a movie. Also the first movie is not according the first book, the first book show how Narnia was born. It was truly amazing, and the descriptions of the details is so great you can visualize everything in your head, if you haven't read it, i highly recommend it :D Ps. The tiny musketer mouse is super cute and funny~ XD

I'd love for all you book lovers to come chat with me in my book thread if you'd like! I saw so many people who enjoy the same books as me, and I think it'd be fun to learn about new series as well! :D

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. It made me think a lot and fall in love with Oscar Wilde... I've read almost all of his plays/poems.

I'm a big fan of The Keys to the Kingdom series by Garth Nix. It's deep enough to get involved in, long enough to be satisfying, and still explains things very well. It may be for 'Young Adults', but the concepts in it are really cool! The fifth one was my least favorite, but still good.
I also really liked the Rod Albright Trilogy, by Bruce Coville, when I was a little younger. Aliens are always nice ^_^

The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman, I'm sure we've all heard of it. It's well written with memorable characters, for sure.

Thank you, Shaylmesse and Vis! Ok, I cant say it's my favourite book but it's in my Top Ten and I just have to mention it because it's the last book I've read and is HILARIOUS! It's called 'Dad is Fat' and it's written by Jim Gaffigan. It's a wonderful twist to the world of parenting (although I'm pretty sure anyone would find it funny) whereby Jim talks about his life with his many kids. The book is about admitting your kids drive you up the wall while at the same time you love them with all your heart. You can preview it on Amazon and Google books before you buy, and I definitely recommend at least previewing as I'm sure you'll be hooked! :D - V
