Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!
Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?
The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.
Ooh, but wait! There's more!
Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).
Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!
Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!
Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!
Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!
Just smell those new pages!

Janny Wurts wrote what is probably my all time favorite book(okay series) "The Wars of Light and Shadow .It's like 9 books so far . It's a struggle between two half brothers warped by a curse/evil. The brother of "Light" is fighting against his "Shadowed" brother in the name of the greater good. Only things aren't so clear cut obviously or the series wouldn't be so long! There is magic, struggle, war, and the question of "right" and "wrong". These books are well written, descriptive( you could build the universe in your head as you read), and very very long! I die inside a little every time I have to wait the years for the next part. This thing is long so very long and not over yet....*cries* I need to re-read it all myself.

The Giver by Lois Lowry is the first in a series of four. It is by far my favorite book of all time as of my current age at typing this. It is based in a dystopian city, where all but one person in the place has the ability to see things differently. Everyone looks the same, follows strict principles, and such. It was originally saw as a utopia, but as the protagonist of the story, 12 year old Jonas, this view changes. He is given the memories of before things went to how they were now, and he plans on changing it at all costs.
I found it interesting, and if you pick it up and like it, make sure to read the other three books! ^_^

Dragonriders of Pern are my favorite books! The stories are super fun to read about. The biology of the dragons, the rituals surrounding them, the characters... Wow the characters are great! I wish I could just pick one book of the series but they're all great.

You may probably have already read it or someone else may have already posted it, but my favorite would be The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien. It is an older book and is the prequel to The Lord of The Rings, but the language is fluent and descriptive. It may seem a bit childish, but I found myself with a foolish smile as I dove deeper into the book. A couple of songs and a handful of riddles, as well as a few interesting scenarios should keep the gears turning in your mind. I enjoied how the main character Bilbo develops as the book carries on, and how he deals with the problems that the group comes to face. I don't want to say too much in case you haven't read it yet, but with such an interesting read... who hasn't?

My favorite series is the Leviathan series by Scott Westerfeld, "Leviathan","Behemoth", "Goliath" It is a very well thought out Steampunk series, and when it comes to teen fiction most definitely the best. I can't stand drama and love triangles and over dramatic whiny females that seem to plague a lot of teen fiction, and this has none of that! The female character is wicked awesome, I adore her, and the steampunk technology the author came up with is really amazing, genetically altered animals and steam driven walkers. It takes place during WWI, and one of the best parts is that it has a few beautifully done pictures throughout the books. It is my absolute favorite series and it's definitely something you guys should check out! =D

The Hunters Moon, O.R. Melling. That is the first book in the series and it is my favorite book of all time, Magic, Faeries, and a touch of love. If you read the other books in the series you not only get the Irish Faeries but also Canadian ones, with native American beliefs blended perfectly together. Great read all together.

Ahh forgot to say I listen to books rather then read them as I never have to "set them down" no matter what I'm doing I can continue to listen to my book. Now that being said I forgot about my other favorite series called the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon, which is intertwined with 2 other series the Dream Hunter series & The Chronicles of Nick series. All 3 are set in present day & has weres, dameons (vampires), dark hunters, Greek gods & goddesses, witches, demons, dream hunters, Demi gods & dragons. It's an awesome series that again the author has no intention of ending them. The banner in my signature includes several quotes by my favorite character in the series Acheron.

My favorite book would have to be Inheritance, the final book in the inheritance cycle by Christopher Paolini. But I would rather pick the whole series instead of just one. The series is just so well written it makes me go crazy with awe. It basically has it's own language as well. Many people that have seen it think it's a hard read but I find it amazing with it's wondrous lore, amazing creatures, and incredible plot. I just like Inheritance the best because it is the newest book and I haven't read it fifty bajillion times. :3 Anyway...yeah.

The Guardians of Ga'Hoole. It's made for children but it's full of adventure, mystery, myth, and owls. Tons and tons of owls. Seriously, I think I coughed up feathers when I got done reading it. I totally recommend this one if you haven't read it. It has a small series of sequel books as well so if you enjoy the first one, you can keep reading!
