Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!

Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?

The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.

Ooh, but wait! There's more!

Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).

Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!

Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!

Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!

Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!

Just smell those new pages!

The Temperance Brennan novels from Kathy Reichs are really good. I'm still trying to get through them all.

Crank by Ellen Hopkins

All of the books by her are really good, they grip you in and the characters are believable and they are based on real people.

Uhura's Song : Janet Kagan

Uhura's Song is a great read if you like your characters a little bit feline! I fell in love with this book after stealing it from my father's bookshelf years ago. It's about the original Stark Trek crew and their journey to save a planet full of feline/humanoid beings from a terrible plague. The book has some great comedic moments, some interesting dialogue (yay language barriers), and uses Uhura's unique talents to save millions.

Since the new Star Trek movies have come out, you even have some super hot young actors/actresses to envision as you read!

I also have multiple other Star Trek recommendations if anyone is interested. XD

Jean M. Auel's Earth Children series - 6 hefty books - awesome reading and I never get bored rereading them because every time I do, I pick up a new piece of information.

If you're not in for hefty series like that - then I direct you to the Celestial Prophecy series by Redfield (four books). Excellent reading and makes you think about yourself.

Graceling by Kristin Cashore! (and her other two, Fire and Bitterblue) It has amazing world building and the teo main characters (Katsa and Po) are great!

Favorite book? Oh, that's super hard. I don't think I could choose I'm such a readaholic & I LOVE books, I guess, either The Hunger Games, How to Kill a Mockingjay, or anything by Rick Riordan. Oh, I guess I could narrow it down to just Rick Riordan books & say the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, since The Lost Hero series doesn't make sense without reading Percy's series first.

One book? JUST ONE? You're killing me! If I had to choose ONE book.. ugh. Maybe House of Leaves? It's a very interesting "horror" novel, with a very... odd page layout. There are something like 3 stories at once. It's a book about a book about a documentary about a house, and all its weirdness, like being bigger on the inside than outside, and a horrid dark abyss that's down some stairs through a hallway. It's about the family that lived there, the exploration of the house, the book about the documentary they made, and the story of the author writing the book about the book about the documentary.. And his supposedly nutcase mother. You just HAVE too look for it. Google "House of Leaves" in the image search and take a peek!
Second would probably be John Dies at the End, then the Song of Ice and Fire series so far.. And books by Douglas Adams, and... you didn't ask for that, did you? lol

My favorite book is World Without End by Sean Russell. It's a bit hard to find though, but it's absolutely amazing and worth looking for. :D

Oh man I have so many favorite books, but my most favorite isn't so much one book as it is an entire series. If you like urban fantasy and smart ass characters, The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher is a seriously good read. :]

I have way to many "favorite books" as I've been a reader since I was a kid.
One of my tops has to be the Dragon Prince series by Melanie Rawn.

Just an amazingly detailed(lots of plot) and creative story especially when it comes to aspects of "magic" such as the sun weavers whom weave patterns within the light to communicate across the lands, and the way dragons are portrayed.
