Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!

Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?

The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.

Ooh, but wait! There's more!

Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).

Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!

Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!

Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!

Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!

Just smell those new pages!

Most anything my Sherrilyn Kenyon, honestly. The way she creates her characters and sets up situations really draws me into her work. Chronicles of Nick is a good series, and so is the League series. I haven't yet gotten to the Dark-Hunters series, but I've heard it's equally good.

Wait I change it to The Hobbit. The world made for this book and The Lord of the Rings is beautiful. I loved the movie but the book was my favorite. The detail made me feel like i was a part of it! I know many would agree that they would love to live in the land!

I love to read the "Artemis Fowl" series by Eoin Colfer. It's about the teenage criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl, who kidnappes a fairy to get some fairy gold to organize a search party for his missing father. Later in the books they meet eachother again for various reasons and even become friends. It's a pretty nice story with very interesting characters, e.g. Artemis' bodyguard Butler who frightened a lot of enemies just due to his size and strength or the faries in general who are living subsurface and use high tech, far better than human's. It's just such an interesting story and written pretty well - you just can't stop reading because you want to know how it's continuing (I already spent nights readingeven though I already know the books). I can really recommend it :)

The Vampire Academy series if my absolute favorite, the main character Lissa reminds me SO much of me that it actually feels like I'm reading a book about myself~<3 xD

Black Prism by Brent Weeks i like it because he brings in a nice twist on magic. (The night angel trilogy was a great one too.)

American Gods by Neil Gaiman very good mature read if that is what you're looking for.

My all time favorite is Frankenstein, but almost everyone has read those. So, how about the "Keys to the Kingdom" Series by Garth Nix. It's YA fiction, and they're VERY easy reads (maybe 2 hours each, maybe). It's a story about a boy who has to go and defeat these 7 denizens of the universe in order to save earth from a plague and the universe itself from the 7. Brings new life to the term "living will."

I just love the 'Kingkiller Chronicles' by Patrick Rothfuss. His style of writing is just absolutely breathtaking and stunning. How he can convey feelings with words is absolutely gorgeous. And his charakters Kvothe/Kote and Bast are just great and their relationship is very intriguing. I love how he discribes Kvothes struggle with his failing abilities and his hopelessness, after he forsook his former self and put on the alias of Kvothe.
And I just love how he develops the story piece by piece.

You know-- a fun, ridiculous read called "Order of the Odd Fish" by James Kennedy.
First off it's totally ridiculous-- it's almost like reading a monty python sketch in story form. Then again the characters are endearing, interesting, and easy to feel attached to. I think you'd probably get a kick out of it.

Aw, I love the background! :D My favourite book is probably Dragonsbane by Patricia C Wrede. (Now known as Dealing With Dragons, but I first read it when it was still called Dragonsbane and I recently bought an old copy from eBay that was just like the one I remembered. :) ) Anyway, Cimorene is a princess who doesn't want to be a princess. A girl who doesn't want to be girly. She'd rather take fencing and magic lessons than etiquette and the like and she makes friends with dragons. For some reason, I related quite strongly to it... ;P
