Yoo hoo! *waves hanky* It's me again with another special delivery!
Did you know that today is Book Lover's Day? No? Well, neither did I until Shaylmesse (#13314) brought it to my attention-- and I'm blushing to have to admit my ignorance, because there are few greater pleasures than curling up with a good book! If you're like me and would just love to have your own little personal library, why don't you try Shaylmesse's gift on for size?
The Book Lover's Background is available in the Advent Calendar for the duration of today and tomorrow, up until August 10th, 11:59pm.
Ooh, but wait! There's more!
Tell me your favourite book (and why!) in the comments and you could be in with a chance of winning this set of custom crystals! I'm in need of some good new holiday reads and I'm sure I can't be the only one. :3 Chime in by August 10th, 11:59pm to ensure your spot in the draw (one entry per account, please).
Ooh, but wait! There's even more!!!
Do you remember I mentioned earlier in the week that I was having a tidy of my inbox? The invitation (and encouragement!) to nudge your outstanding Artist Pay is still open, but today I am asking you to bump up PMs pertaining to Lunarii switches. That means if you picked up the wrong Lunaris for the month and you're still waiting on me to swap 'em around for you, point yourself to my inbox sharpish!
Phew! Okay! That's everything - probably! Who knows! Yay! Exclamation marks!
Thank you for the background, Shaylmesse!
Just smell those new pages!

Picking one book is hard, but anything by Tamora Pierce is good. Specifically the Circle of Magic (and the sequel The Circle Opens) quartet(s) is/are full of wonderful stories. Street Magic is probably my favorite book of the set.

White Cat by Holly Black, it's the first book in the Curse Worker's Trilogy. I started and finished it today, and it's fantastic (Don't let the one day thing deter you, I have a lot of time on my hands and read at an inhuman pace)

The seekers series! I ended up reading those because of the warrior cats series and they are way better than the warriors ^^

I can't choose just one book, but I'd have to say the Song of the Lioness quartet is my favorite series. Last semester of school, I wrote a whole essay on how much it's shaped the way I relate to people and made me confident in myself.

The Lost Conspiracy. I think it's a stand alone novel, but I thought it was really good when I read it. In the beginning, some of the things make no sense but it does later on in the book. C:

I really like the Florida Roadkill series by Tim Dorsey. The books all follow the adventures of serial killer / vigilante Serge Storms as he travels his beloved state of Florida, dishing out his own brand of justice. From death by Barbie Doll to cooking people alive in ice, these books have it all! Though they may sound gorey and gross, they really aren't! It is actually a very funny series of books all about not taking life so seriously. You'll really enjoy it. :)

The Looking Glass Wars Trilogy is based off of Alice in Wonderland and since I'm an Alice in Wonderland fan, it's amazing. You'll adore it if you enjoy seeing well-known, classic characters twisted into new and different things!
[And The Looking Glass Wars is the first book, so that is my suggestion *-*]

The Mask of the Red Death, by Edgar Allen Poe. It's very scary and suspenseful-perfect for reading in the night! >o

Hmm well I dunno if we have the same taste or if you've read these but
The Mortal Instruments and the Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare are two really good book series. I think they're more for teens, so I don't know if you would like them, but in my opinion they're definitely worth checking out. I have to say the last book in the Infernal Devices series was beautifully written.
All of Jodi Picoult's book she is an amazing author. I know you said 'favourite' but they're so many great books out there... you just can't pick a fav >_> One book of Picoult's is Nineteen Minutes, it's amazing, have you read it?
Maggie Stiefvater's a pretty good author too, I don't whether they're more for teens though. I especially love Books of Faerie and the Shiver trilogy :)
Yeah I'll stop now xD I do love books, they're one of my passions! <3

One does not simply pick a favorite book. XD I honestly never could. Top three I can do, though~
1: The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis
2: Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
3: The Hollow Kingdom by Clare B. Dunkle
These three series were a big part of my childhood. I love them and consider them worthy of reading over and over again through the years.
