There's a reason most of us miss out on a massive part of the site: this belief that as staff we can or will cheat. We play like everyone else. If we happen to win something it's because between making sure everyone else is safe and okay and the game is running smoothly for you... we're also working our butts off in the reduced amount of time to try and play for ourselves too. Then we're made to feel guilty about it because apparently we "cheated". This attitude is why people petitioned that staff weren't allowed to play with staff in Scav, and then tried to ban us completely - because apparently we're not allowed to play the site =/ Sorry if I'm coming across as bitter but it's very hard not to be when people cast aside the fact that we all play like the rest of you - even Slash and Youko on account #1.

Slash could also just give himself a neura egg if he wanted, why would he have to cheat to win the raffle? I mean last I checked he owns a xaoc and no one minds that -why should they? It's stupid to think he would be underhanded in this situation.

How did I know the comments on this post would be full of people whining because Slash won? Besides, we all know that if anyone else had won with 2600 tickets, you'd all be bitching about how it's unfair they could afford so many and the contest was slanted in favor of older members with tons of GP. How about we try NOT complaining for once? Just for a change?

Lol wow this all sounds so familiar. *shakes head* Flash #1 is a PLAYER account. Nothing site based is run out of that account. Nyah #15 is the Admin account. He bought tickets, just like any other user could buy tickets. If Random.org really wanted Slash to win then I'm pretty sure we have bigger problems to worry about lol Slash and Youko/Flo just want to play Aywas and I don't really see anything wrong with that. He bought 2600 freakin tickets. We had like 17. Go back through the news Archives and see how raffles have been won in the past. More often than not it's the users with 4, 12, 6 tickets that win. I'm sorry but Admins have better things to do with their time than give themselves items. What fun is playing a game if you're handed all the best stuff at the beginning? There will be other contests. Good luck in the future. -Garai

Maybe I'm more used to this because I came here from a site with a much smaller userbase and a owner who has a playing account to make sure things on the site are working and for actually /playing on/, but I'd like to give a big congrats to Slash and Youko for winning. It's a lot of hard work! I couldn't even believe what I was seeing when I read all these comments. Congrats are definitely in order, not accusations.

This is why most companies (McDonalds, Coke etc) have rules STOPPING Employees and members of the work team from enetering. Because even if its 100% legitimate and one of the workers/employees/members of the team wins the prize, there is always going to be doubt placed on whether it was won fairly or not. Doesnt matter if those two accounts are 'separate". Slash still has some part in both and being owner of the site, people are still going to see that as being a conflict of interest and throw doubt onto the legitimacy of the winnings. Its perfectly natural for people to think that as u have to take urself out of the support slash side and look at it from the side of those who see it as a conflict of interest - simply due to Slash owning the site and the account being able to be tied to slash/member of the working team, people are going to think of it as a conflict of interest

@46532 and everyone else that's talking like this -
So this means that the staff who work their tooshes off for us shouldn't be able to actually participate in the site that they are putting their hard work into? I'm sorry, but no. THAT'S a conflict of interest. Hey, I know, guys, let's replace all the staff with robots! Then the robots won't want to participate in the site like the rest of us, and people won't be whining when they DO happen to win something. Oh wait, that wouldn't work, robots wouldn't nearly be as fun as the staff we DO have, nor as friendly or amazing.
The staff want to participate in their hard work. What's so BAD about that? Give it a break. ;-; I and I'm sure many others see it as unfair for them to have to NOT participate in their hard work, or worry about getting things that they like.

I'd like to say that I can see it from both sides. I have been a user and I have been staff on a number of sites, and this is the only place I have been where volunteers (aka the staff) are expected to be penalised for giving up their time in aiding the site for no monetary gain (site or otherwise) because some users refuse to understand that there is a distinct separation between our roles on the staff and as players - even Slash.

Congratulations! It's an awesome Neura, and I think it'll be murderously happy in your lair XD

Also, I am totally okay with staff participating. I know it could look bad, but they win about as often as anyone else does (aka no evidence of cheating) and it means they're involved in the site instead of being monotonous figureheads.
There was once another site in my distant memory that had users who were not. And staff replaced by robots. I lost a decade's playing in one blow, and never heard a peep from the 'staff.'
I can honestly say, I'm happy the hard working, existant, and very human staff deserve to play in the world they help support and create X3
