The Essence of Revamp is stocking in the Metalsmithing Shop!
This essence allows you to revamp one of your custom's artwork. Useful if you want to redraw any customs you made years ago. Please note that edits and colors must still be the same from old to new, so you might want to drop your image in the crystal check feature before you submit.
The components of the item can be found in either the Fissures or the BP Shop.

What exactly is the differences between this item and a dawn crystal? I'm guessing this is more powerful, but what are it's boundaries and what makes it different from a dawn crystal?

With Dawn Crystals you have to use more than one to revamp a custom. This lets you go all in one shot.

So what would take various dawn crystals will take just one of these, so we can do more than just update the art (while keeping the edits the same)? I thought strictly updating art (with no position changes or color changes) didn't need more than one dawn crystal.

Pretty sure you need one dawn crystal per edit you're revamping, at least based on what I saw in the suggestion thread.

One: THANK YOU SLASH ;3;
Two: Hikaru, you needed one dawn crystal per edit usually if you wanted to update the lineart and shading, then one for each other change like small colour changes etc until in the end you'd racked up enough for a gold custom crystal for your bronze orb pet. (exaggerating but you get the idea) Dawn crystals were meant to small fixes and alt lines changing not revamping.
Also you can use this on gen 2s since you aren't /changing/ things, you are just updating them :3

Dawn Crystals allow for certain types of alterations with G1's, removal of edits, fixes, and multiples are needed to change different things about a single custom. Revamp doesn't allow for changes to the actual design, and one is all you need for the whole pet. They're similar but different.
