How many of you would like explore pets to retire from their areas after a certain amount of time (available only through Truly Random Eggs, Glittering Rocks, and so forth)?
The benefit to this would be making it easier to locate new pets in the explore regions, of course, if the older ones get retired on a schedule! As well as older colorations should become more valuable.

I've got to agree with Saturn as well. This would really kill some of the love I've had for Aywas (namely hoarding pets). I'd be so sad if they did this, and seasonal cycles would be much, MUCH more appealing. I voted for one year, just because that is the best option out of them without seasonal cycles, but I urge you to reconsider retiring them. It would also make it a heck of a lot harder to get the Legendary Rare, Hidden Rare, or Ultra Rare pets in a region since Tiny Glittering Rocks don't carry them, and I've never hatched one from a random egg. I haven't unlocked half of the adventure levels and I would cry if the Legendary Rare Melo from a few areas were retired :c

I would love for them to retire. They'll still be available in eggs and rocks and there's a huggggeee surplus of most of them already, so I can't see this really disadvantaging any newbies. :P

Maybe there could be a new rock for LR/HR/UR pets? Like a... Small Glittering Rock.

A seasonal rotation would only be a temporary solution - eventually we'll be in exactly the same situation, with too many pets in each area regardless. There's also no automatic way of adding/removing pets to Adventure areas presently.

I voted for retiring after a year, but only if they stay the same rarity. It makes the random eggs more valuable, and I don't think it would be that harsh on newer players...
Even Truly Random Eggs are easy enough to get hold of, and I've gotten more LR pets out of those than I have out of Adventure.

I do want to point out that, unless the majority (50% or more) vote that they never retire, it would be unfair to not implement this idea, as the majority would vote to retire them at some point, if at ANY point.
I hope this will be implimented, this would be kind of cool.

I personally like the seasonal idea. If we have the rotation for, say, a year, year-and-a-half, THEN begin 'retiring' or removing pets from oldest-to-newest, It would give newer users a good chance to collect the current pets before they are removed, as well as any of us who are trying to collect them all. It would make Graymare's first objection to the seasonal idea null, as they would be removed after a year, but the rotation part is still a problem.
So, if possible, seasonal for about a year, then removing them from areas gets my vote.

I think the older pets should go and when should they go will depends on how fast we add on new ones. At the current rate, six months or one year sounds fair.

I say make it a year, gives time for all the ones released to be caught. It also gives newer players within the year a chance to grab these pets before the retire.

I came here to say what Gothbutter wrote. I seriously recommend you rethink any permanent retirement ideas. I remember seasonal cycles being suggested by someone a year or two ago to prevent the eventual overcrowding of explore regions. (I think it was said around the time new explore pets were released weekly?) PLEASE don't retire explore pets. Explore, err Adventure, is the core of the site, and permanently removing pets takes away from Aywas's draw. Seasonal cycles would relieve the regional crowding while still allowing rotated pets to increase a bit in value. Plus, we need some life around here when there isn't a user event going on, and this idea is a good way to spice things up.
