TOS change - 12/15/2012

Rules

A new rule has been added to the Terms of Service:

- not manipulate official pet details (pet image, pet stats, pet breedability, etc.) in pet profiles through CSS or any other means

On the forums we had some fun with modifying the size of pet images, but this also led to the discovery that official pieces of data could be edited too, as well as unapproved images be placed over pet images. This opens up an avenue to cheating (imagine buying a pet with an image containing text showing it's breedable placed over the section saying it's not!), so this sort of activity is now disallowed.

However, when all pet profile capabilities are back up, you can still do fun things like change backgrounds, font colors, etc. and express your creativity through pet pages!

I found out it was possible because I wanted to see if I could replicate the function of the new item slash was releasing.
Also you can change backgrounds and stuff for pet profiles with CSS it is just that you can't add art work and other elements. See my pet Angha for example:

i'm a little lost between "pet profile" and "pet pages"...the pages are fully editable (though in some fancy way i haven't really learned about yet), but if you can't (currently) use HTTP on the pet profiles to add images or even BF type, for example, in the editable-info box i'm a little hazy about what's going on. it sounds like a sensible precaution, both for the site's and the uers' protection...but will standard HTTP editing be eventually reactivated on the basic pet profiles? Py misses her graphics and dialog, lol.

I've always known that this was possible. Surprised it wasn't a rule until now.
