GCC Deal Reminders

Items

Some reminders about the Gold Custom Crystal deal (if you're not sure what that is, it allows you to request a design for a pet along with the purchase of a GCC through the GP Shop):

- Please stop putting copyrighted content as your keyword. You shouldn't put the name of a fictional character, a video game, a movie, or anything like that as your keyword.

- While I'm generally lenient about 2-3 word keywords, some people are pushing these boundaries. Something like "tropical paradise" or "female white tiger" is acceptable but keywords like "long black scene hair, wearing a scarf with ocean markings and blue eyes" is too descriptive.

- Please try to put a variety of artists in either the suggested area or non-suggested area so I can get an idea of the kind of style you like. Don't put one or two artists in "suggested" and list "everyone else" as non-suggested.

Thanks!

Curse you school! Curse you!

The joys of life, I know just get in the way. Gosh I don't know how the artists manage if I knew there was such a large list I'd probably try to keep going till I passed out xD. And then be told how my OCD to try and clear the list is killing me x3.

...What if we only have two artists that we really like? =/ I mean, I know that the rest of the artists are not bad(all of the artists are really great, please don't get me wrong), but the artists I picked were for what -I- wanted in a custom. I love their style that bests suits what I'm looking forward into getting what I like best. I just think the option of selecting more than one or two artists that you know you don't really want to have do your custom is a bit much? Please don't flame me for saying all of this. Just what I think about it and such. Some people just -know- who they want and who they do not want to make their custom for them. Anyway, thanks for the update.

erm ok mine is already in and got assigned about a month~ish ago to an artist, but I still wanna ask why aren't we supposed to do things like Video Games? Obviously it couldn't be directly copied we all know that, but like say for me I put 'Dead Space' it is a space based zombie game, survivor/horror style, with shooter/melee combat at least those are the main bits. And yes I could have say said 'space' or 'zombies' or something, but the zombies in that game have a unique style to them, and the space suite/ship are in a mostly unique style as well. So no I didn't want exact by any means, but I was hoping for something that would fit into that world weather it be a zombie, a spacy thing, or some combo of both. Erm so I guess my main point is that as long as we aren't expecting something exact and/or copyright violating why couldn't we use those? Also should I change mine? I know it has been given to an artist, but they don't have a sketch or anything up on their thread so I could PM them and offer a change in keywords if I need to.

"unique style to them" <- this is exactly why you can't use video games as your keyword, because it could potentially run us into copyright legal troubles, and giving some big company grounds to sue and shut down Aywas is NOT worth your single custom. You're better off with generic key words anyways because it's quite possible an artist would interpret "dead space" literally rather than realizing it's a game title.

The offer doesn't work like that, Lunch and Shadow. I didnt even give people the option to opt out of having an artist do their design. It was a free thing that comes with a GCC and still is. This is not a commission. I don't want to do away with allowing people to suggest and deny artists so please follow the guidelines and not try to force a design into one or two artist's lists. That is not the point of the deal, as it's not the PBC queue. I already have a few people wondering why their design was assigned to an artist they didn't list so this seems to be a point that needs reinforcing.

i would think by buying the crystal and getting a free design that alot of people can't do on their own would be enough. why worry about who designs it as long as it's done? i understood that if you don't like the design you can do one yourself or commission one from someone and the design is still your own. i really don't want the offer taken away before i can even get my design because i don't have the resources to do a GCC design myself.

OK. I don't think I'll update because I doubt it would make a difference in my case. It's been so long that there would be so many folks in front of me for any other artists I might add that it wouldn't speed things along. If I'm reading this correctly, though, I think I'm fine. I only put one artist but I did so knowing I might/might not get said artist. I didn't have anyone actually in my "no" field anyway. What you're really saying here is don't make a situation where you only have 1 or 2 artists AT ALL.
