Site Update
The Custom Tokens in the Trash Shop have been given a serious price bump. I know price increases are never fun, but I think we can all agree that being able to get a pet with 75% edits for 1 GP isn't quite right.
And while I'm here, I'd like to remind everyone that glows, transparency, and clipped on accessories/clothing still count as edits, and thus are not allowed on Metals.
This pet is okay for Metal:
These pets, however, would NOT be okay:
I'd also like to make sure everyone knows that the Personal Custom Queue now allows you to cancel your own pet submissions! If you submit an image only to realize you submitted the wrong image, had a white background, coloring errors, or any other mistake, you can cancel it yourself instead of having to PM me.

This is a huge slap in the face. And a massive disappointment. I've been on here just under a year. When I first joined BP/GP exchange was 250K for 1GP Now it runs up to 400K for 1GP. Earning money is harder. There used to be food shop items that would jump up in price every now and then (like basil) and I could earn a little if I stalked the shops and kept up with my store. Now most food items have dropped to little over what is paid.
I takes me 3 months to get 15K points. So that's one gold token or 3 bronze every 3 months. I was very much looking forward to learning how to make customs with those, but now other than coloring a few dump pets. It makes it extremely difficult. I also spend a couple of hours every morning hunting for dump items in shops. This is what lures me in and I often find pets and other items to spend my money on. I won't be doing much of this anymore because achieving my goal of getting points has now become so challenging as not to be enjoyed. So I ask is this good for economy? I agree with others. You have killed my spirit Aywas. I will be spending less time here and I don't think that is your goal. I don't understand how Aywas has more players than ever before, but now they can't make money. Er??????

And I know that I, personally, can earn 400k BP in one day of adventuring...

Well said Conium. I'll get to my own opinion on the price hikes in a minute, but first I'd like to say something to the Aywas community at large- My God, what's the matter with you? As a relativly new member(joined a few months ago) and a forums lurker I never really understood why people said that the Aywas community had issues. It seemed to me that the userbase not only met expectations, but exceeded them, with users often giving out free rare items and high level pets to newbies and poorer players, and offering support to people who needed it. Well. Read all 19 pages of comments. Userbase doesn't look so nice anymore. Now, I know that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I respect that. But some of you. Just because someone with less BP/GP/TP than you is upset that the price of something reasonable and achievable didn't just jump but SOARED, doesn't make them a whiny beggar asking for handouts. For many people, these tokens were a reasonable goal and some where very close to reaching that goal. They have every right to be upset. And on the same token, you have every right to agree with the price hikes. This isn't directed at everyone who approved the hikes. Some of you were polite and fair about commenting. But a lot of you wern't. Even if you DID work so much harder for your first custom, even if these high prices ARE easily attainable for you, you still don't have the right to be rude and condescending towards everyone who doesn't look at things the same way you do. These people are not being entitled. They are not asking for handouts. They had a goal in sights, they tried to reach it, and they had it snatched away from them. You should be ashamed of yourselves, especially you, oce. You are all fighting like children. Everyone is entitled to their opinion here, and nothing but that. Sit down-shut up arguments and condescending insults don't help anyone.
Anyways, enough of that. My opinion on the price hikes themselves. If we needed to bring the prices up, why did they have to be so steep? 400%? Really? All at once, with no warning whatsoever? And you expect everyone to find that fair? For the users that don't have loads of BP/GP, token pets were an achievable goal. This was where the casual player, who doesn't want to (or can't, because they have things like jobs or school or lives) put in hours of clicking plus hours of drawing and REAL LIFE US DOLLARS into online pixel pets! This was how newbies and poor users got a taste of custom making- and no, unless some kind user gave them a token, they still put effort into getting them! I think the reason that there's so much controversy is that in an online game, as approved to real life, effort is relative. For some users, yes, hard work is lines of commissions for edits, colorations, predicts, art sales WHATEVER. Their goals are getting those silver crystals, making those pets a species, finishing their collection of themed customs or whatever else they want to do. Good for them! They had the patience and the determination and if it weren't for the users like this, Aywas wouldn't be half the site it is. But then there are the users that get excited just when an item or a pet sells in their shop or auction for 100k. They save and save, and getting ANY custom making, or even worse, breeding item is a HUGE investment for them. They see the gold and silver pets and know they will probably never own one. But they are content with their lot. And sometimes, often, yes, their customs aren't beautiful. They may not even be remotely good. They probably weren't made in photoshop or another great program. Maybe GIMP, maybe even a 30 day trial of something. But what does it matter? All that some users want is something they that they can be proud of. Something they can look at and think "I did that." For the newbies and the casual player, tokens were their chance to do st that. Aywas do you WANT only hardcore, premium members? That's what it looks like. Customs and breeding are what make Aywas. This is was distinguishes it from other pet sites- the opportunity to have fully customized pets, at a reasonable price. I understand why so many newbies quit. "Just adventure," you say, "you'll find loads of items to dump there." Do you know how HARD IT IS to level a pet? I know that they're still trying to fix it and make it easier, but for a new user with only a few BP and a low level pet or two from the pet shop or the pound, leveling is next to impossible. Almost everyone agrees that the best way to do well in adventure is to get a pet that someone already leveled up to at least the 30-40 range, if not higher still. How does a new user afford that? Now look, I understand that no one wants inflation, but is this really the way to fix the Aywas economy? I also know that the gold token WAS underpriced, but I always thought that tokens were a way, really to help get newbies on their feet. If you feel that 75%edits should be harder to obtain, why didn't you just spike the price for gold tokens and leave the others alone? Or you could have made it so that metal tokens only increased a little, bronze a little more, and so on. There has to be some way to compromise on the situation. Upping prices is only going to make users hoard money more, not less. Why can't we just have a really big BP sink? I've seen some brilliant suggestions completely ignored. What about an Aywas casino? That would take some money out if the system. What about more, better raffles? There has to be a better way than spiking prices. This is only dividing players by how much BP they own - it's pet site class warfare, and it will only make the community worse.

Well, I don't really want to say too much about the price bump because I'm not going to take a side, but what I have to say is about the community. I left wajas to come here because wajas community went to s#!t. People were snide, rude, and would beat people down for any opinion they had different. I started trading ALL of my wajas stuff because Aywas seemed a bit better, but after some of these condescending comments, I'm second guessing my decision and might leave here as well, I do pet sites for the community. Any money I buy, I buy stuff and gift it. I love to gift. So, community is important to me, not the price hike, but due to these comments... man... I might go elsewhere.

That... still relies entirely on luck. and having a pet to get the items in the first place. Once the pets hit a High level then yeah, you have tons of energy to get items, but for a new player their pet's not going to be able to do that. You know how I know that? Because that's how I got my first custom! I played all the games, bought r90 and r100 items, and trashed them. And customs aren't special or magical things, they're something everyone has. If you want a game where customs are rare? Try any of the other breeding games.
