Tokens + Custom Reminders

Site Update

magic_metalcustomcoin.gifmagic_bronzecustomcoin.gifmagic_bluecustomcoin.gifmagic_goldcustomcoin.gif

The Custom Tokens in the Trash Shop have been given a serious price bump. I know price increases are never fun, but I think we can all agree that being able to get a pet with 75% edits for 1 GP isn't quite right.

And while I'm here, I'd like to remind everyone that glows, transparency, and clipped on accessories/clothing still count as edits, and thus are not allowed on Metals.

This pet is okay for Metal:

These pets, however, would NOT be okay:

I'd also like to make sure everyone knows that the Personal Custom Queue now allows you to cancel your own pet submissions! If you submit an image only to realize you submitted the wrong image, had a white background, coloring errors, or any other mistake, you can cancel it yourself instead of having to PM me.

I was under the impression that as long as it didn't cover library or add to existing base..it was metal. Period. I have tons of metals with edits.

Thanks, Damion, I appreciate it. :) Ryu, you're right, if it took a month for a user to get a custom, that would be completely reasonable. Unfortunately, most of the items that are available for dumping (cannot be used for cooking, are extras from cooking, are adventure items) are not worth the 5 points that it would require to get that 500 points per day in order to achieve the gold token in one month. And that would be even if the user were able to find 100 dumpable items in one day. I do agree that a month, even two or three, for a new user is reasonable for their first custom, as it does give them time to become acquainted with the site, and that is a vital step in being able to make that first custom. However, it would realistically take much longer than that with the current dump limits and low item values. This change would, indeed, be much needed if it were implemented with other changes that would help some users from being now stuck in their goal. Also, Sylverwyng, I think it's because the jewelry edits count as part of the edit percentage, and since the eye lines and chest fluff count for part of the 5% metal limit, no more is allowed. Not completely sure though.

@Kait I didn't realize the eyelines were changed at all. Hmmm. Perhaps butting the base next to the first picture would have helper to explain.

Yeah, if you go to the PSD for the Oske, you can see that there are pupil and iris lines in the eyes, plus a line of chest fluff that have been taken out, and that's already touching on the 5%.

I think what caught me so off was the sticker shock of how much it was changed. I still say 400% increase is too much at one time. Perhaps increasing it double this time and over the next few months increase it by little *easier to swallow* bites, it wouldn't have been. 0.0 holy **** (insert whichever four letter word you choose here... mine wasn't vulgar... but, meh.) Perhaps even a news post of, "We will be making a price increase in ..... shop", and let people rush out, snatch whatever they *think* might go up in price... that way no one feels so side swiped.

Actually the pupil and eyeliness were just colored. I do that to a lot of my pets to get all black eyes. That's not %

@Sylverwyng As has been pointed out in the news post and in the thread I linked you, edits such as jewelry even if they are clipped to the base still count as edits and are supposed to be disallowed for metals. This has been a custom rule for a long time. If you have gotten customs past this rule, that doesn't mean it isn't a rule, it just means you slipped through the cracks. -Nomad

You know, I've been thinking on this. And I've come to a conclusion. Skitty,I am sorry, but your wrong on this. Why, without being mean or whiny? I can do that.

Because your taking away jobs, to use a real life reference. You see, customs are expensive to make, not counting the tokens and the surge of holiday orbs/crystals, which do go way back up in price. If people are buying expensive to make custom desgins, they are going to spend their money on high end artists. Which leave those of us who don't have that kind of talent, outside that great inner circle.

Tokens was a BOON to those kinds of artists. A custom that took work to get, but not to much of that or money. We could color lots of them, people bought them, which fuels the economy. They spend their money on us. We spent our money on aywas or other people. Its a great circle of life.

But now, with tokens 400% more expensive, which as many have said is insane.... those artists have now lost their jobs. Who's going to buy our customs when its really hard to make token species now? No one, thats who. So people loose money, they don't spend money on aywas, or other uses, economy is gonna take a huge hit. Not to mention a lot of new peeps won't stick around, some older people are gonna quit. And that will of course hurt Aywas. I know you dont want that! No one does.

Point about the gold token s- Fine. I'm guessing you have a problem with gold species, even if they are tokens being cheap. You probably also have a problem with to many customs to approve. You know, that could be solved much more easy then this really cruel, horrible inflitation thats gonna hurt more then help. Raise the price of Metal / Bronze a itty bit. Blue a little more, and Gold the most, unless you really hate gold, then just DELETE the gold tokens. AND get more helpers or whatever to do the custom accepting. I know no one should have to do that much alone.

...I know you'll just ignore this. Everyone will. Aywas never fixes prices increses... our voices are never heard in things like this...

Decayed Lagomorpha, is there an actual forum that you could post that in, one that maybe a mod/admin might actually see it? You have great points and ideas to help!

I REALLY understand that there had to be a price bump and I am totally fine with that,I actually support that. I do understand Decayed Lagomorpha's arguments though and they make me wonder if it really had to be 400% upping?
