Yeah, I can't battle at all, either Aywas or Monster. Sounds alike to Kage's issue, but it doesn't let me go into battle at all..

You just have to be patient, eventually you'll capture the pet. Right now a successful capture results in a strange error message, but you do end up with the pet.
