Writing Contests
The Glittering Gala featured several types of writing contests to showcase various forms and levels of written command. Even though the prompts and parameters varied, each contest celebrated the Gala in some way.
Structured
The structured writing contest had a prompt of drama for the Glittering Gala.
Entries could take the form of either a short story or epic poem and had to follow specific guidelines. They were a joy go through, so check out the submissions if you haven't already! Here are our winners:

I wish you could quote news comments. In regards to EssGee:
" I really wish it didn't feel like the biggest selling point for that Finx was "zomg that appearance + male". :( And the winning Insi felt really... minimal, I guess, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but a few of those entries were really deep and then... "Hi, I'm a baker who enjoys the night life and also I'm bicurious lately I guess?" I dunno. I don't personally tend to enjoy characters that can be accurately summed up in one sentence, but I guess to each their own. D: I wish we knew like honorable mentions on the characters, even if they didn't win anything. Just to know who got close."
I actually chose the finx character not because it was a male but because almost every single other entry said 'This is a tarty looking finx. Therefore, it is obviously a lady of the night or a drag queen.' Which can be really good characters, but the overwhelming amount of those type of characters made me sick of all of them halfway through reading the entries. And I read every entry, multiple times. There are those on my IM list who got to listen to me rant and whine for days about judging.
As for the Insi, I'll admit that that one was totally me being an egotistical twat. Or not. Something like that. I'm very bad at judging things.
