Price Update...

Site Update

A short announcement to state that MBCs and RBCs have received a small price-hike to hopefully combat inflation. There's something to be said when a coin is only 3-4 GP, that's far too little even for these two!

Yes, this will inevitably cause upset, but the RBC & MBC queues combined almost equal the BC and LBC ones (GP coins!). Meaning that with the site growing that we need to raise prices to equalize with the amount being bought. We're not trying to make it impossible to earn things, but there's a LOT of BP out there and more and more geodes... so we have to make the coins worth their intended value.

Thank you for the understanding.

Nemesis: I was unaware of this :o How much BP/GP do you receive back? Does it at least cover the full price of the BC candy?

Also, what happens to the BC candy if your predicts aren't accepted?

Era: I believe the amount refunded depends on which coin you're using. That also determines if your refund is in BP or GP. I don't recall the exact refund, I'm sorry. I believe I was refunded 5GP, or there about, for my last LBC breeding.

As for the BC candy, I believe it's returned to you if the predicts aren't accepted. Since I'm not part of the breeding staff, though, don't quote me on that. :)

@ Era - only BC/HBC charge for submitting predicts, as far as I'm aware? You make it sound like all predicts cost money to submit, which they don't, you actually get *paid* back for using predicts on anything but BC/HBC. If your predicts are rejected, you can fix them and resubmit as much as needed.

If you list something in your shop at a certain price, that means you want to sell at that price, I fail to see how you "lose out". Any coins you saw Frey scooping up (and this applies to bulk admin purchases in the future) are economy corrections, she does NOT keep those coins. They get destroyed.

I think they mean more along the lines of their profit suffering because of an increase in their value. If the coins were listed at 5gp in user shops, and are now selling for 10gp, for example, that's a potential 5gp loss. Though, you have a point as well, Graymare. It's how any market would work, really.

I'm thankful for this as I have 2 breeding submitted back in early Jan, that I still haven't received babies from :(

Okay, so the system is only silly on BC/HBC. Still, that seems weird to me, that they have you pay the site to do free art that the site would otherwise need to pay for. Frey was the /only/ one scooping them up? That bugs me a lot less. What I am talking about is if users get to profit off of other users who are not able to be glued to the news at the appropriate time. So what is the refund on predicts, anyway? Curious.

.....weren't the MBC prices already doubled once recently?

As far as I can tell, all the events and huge amount of pets are enough of a BP sink as it is - I've never managed to make enough. It would be interesting to see some site statistics on where the bulk of the BP is - I don't think it's among the majority at all.
