Cheetahs are indeed inbred. The reason they're declining so fast is when a disease sweeps through, it kills off most of the area's population due to genes being too similar. Efforts are being made to refresh the gene pool but it's looking grim. There just isn't enough fresh DNA. :c

Cheetah are also susceptible to anthrax via the spores in the grasslands they live in... apparently more so than other large cat species that share the same environment. THE GRASS IS TERRORIST RUNNN.
