Items
The Shelter Hearts event is nearing its end. You have twenty four hours left to purchase a Shelter Hearts item. Remember, 50% of proceeds made from this item go toward West Suburban Humane Society, the shelter I got my cat from.
You have, as a userbase, purchased 89 Shelter Hearts. If you purchase 125 Shelter Hearts, I'll donate 75% of the proceeds to the shelter. If you manage to purchase a total of 150 Shelter Hearts, I'll donate 100% of the proceeds to the shelter (meaning $1500 total).
Sound good?

And just to clarify I don't mean that the admin and mods all get cash for their work, as said I don't know how the business handles its payroll for all the different employees. Just that there are contracted employees who are paid in cash

Because Slash considers it his hobby and when he gets bored it will be done and he'll sell it. To Slash, as he's stated, it is not a business for him and I try to respect it to be viewed as that. Just because the government views it as a business doesn't mean the owner feels that way about it. I work as an artist on the side and make money from it but I consider it a hobby, but if you make a certain amount you have to report it.
And much of the money from PBC's was stolen by a coder and they're in legal actions at the moment.
And no problem Tiki. <333

I'd like to point out that a hell of a lot of the GP in the system is from paying people like breeding artists, Not bought directly, so the cost of certain items is completely irrelevant if I could have easily bought two PBCs with my payment gp. |:
And there are so many contract artists getting paid actual money as well that I find it VERY hard to believe that Aywas can be considered some hugely profitable business that is taking money from charity donations, because it DOES cost for these things.
Anyway, main point: I think all this criticism is extremely rude. Aywas doesn't HAVE to run donation options like this, and everyone complaining about the whole 50% is really ruining the whole good feeling from it.

@TWA: tl;dr.
And for the record, I donated, although seeing all the holier than thou nonsense going on here makes me wish I hadn't.

TWA- what makes you say this is a hobby? From a legal standpoint Explorer Games is very much a business incorporating at least two sites (this ans felis fire), several "management" positions (admin/mods), and employees who are paid in cash. I can't say what exactly anyone gets paid because I don't know, but I know the coders probably get cash, and some of the more demanding artist positions. Not to mention the kind of money this site brings in. PBCs alone brought in a large amount of money to rhis site. Just look at how many breedings are on the waitlist add the number of completed babies displayed on that thread and multiply that number by the.. what was it? 80 gp each coin cost? That will give you an estimate of how much money that item alone brought in. This is no hobby
