And I have used the same net now, for 8 Ara pets....so I don't think they are broken.

Well, we know that monster will be in eventually. I got a quest to encounter 41 pets and monsters. There isn't that me\any pets.

Yah, our nets are definitely breaking like tooth picks. We can catch pets in a second from Holiday Lane, but not with this forest. They break with almost every other capture, and we don't have a ton of money to buy more..x).

I never cat pets with nets. I just fight until they have like half of their health and use some paralizing trick, then I click on the capture button. It's working fine for me. So far I got a lot of pets from the forest. :)
Didn't see any monsters, though.
