Site Update
Evening, folks! Inspired by recent events, we're all going to gather 'round and talk about some general Internet and online game red flags so we can continue to have a safe community.
It has come to our attention that at least one account has been mass-spamming other players with similar messages, offering free avatar art and asking for IM accounts. These kinds of scams are usually an attempt to get your personal information, solicit minors or phish for account passwords. Staff can't do anything about offsite activities, which is why most people with bad intentions try to work through instant messengers.
Never, ever give someone personally identifying information or click on links from people you don't know. When opting to give a user your offsite contact information, do so with a pound of caution and at your own risk. Don't take candy from strangers, let alone tell them your favorite kind!
If you have acted on a message like the one described above, we strongly suggest you block the IM account(s) and change your password(s) to be on the safe side.
If you ever encounter a user or message that looks suspicious to you or just gives you that bad feeling in your gut, please do not hesitate to contact a staff member immediately. People like this aren't exactly going to waltz up to our doors, but they will go to players that look established or unsuspecting, so we really rely on you guys to let us know when something is amiss. Thank you!
Now that we've had a little chat, let's go out for some ice cream!
(I promise, it's safe. XD)
These are now stocking in the Energy Dishes Shop and will be available for the rest of November. :3

This is upsetting. I trust people a bit too much on here, apparently. I'm glad you posted this. I could've lost my account to them. :c

Wow. I'm surprised I didn't get a message like that if it's going to several users. o_o Thank you for letting us know. :) And ice cream, yay!

Yeah I had that happen to me. Some guy I didn't know told me they drew my avatar and wanted to send me the pic via IM. I told him that I didn't give out my IM screen names to people I don't know well and if he wanted to show me he should upload it to photobucket. So he did upload it to photobucket and when I clicked on the link, the picture didn't even have anything to do with my avatar, it was just a generic drawing of a naked girl(thankfully cropped just above the chest).
It seemed really suspicious to me and I figured I would just ignore it and tell a mod if things got any weirder. Glad to know that this issue is being addressed.

Uggh scary, I'm happy you posted this. It's only my second day on this site, but at least I have an idea what is a scam on this website. Very very creepy.

I got this message and gave him my troll skype account that has no personal info on it. Come to think of it, I don't believe i have ANY important personal info on the internet anywhere. I received the same picture as everyone else it seems, and then he told me that he could do a better picture of my real face if I wanted. I smelled something fishy so I politely declined and now I'm glad I did.

Wow. I had no idea the person sent mass messages. I received the "i drew your HA avatar" message and decided to humor the person, stating that I didn't have any IM accounts but they could upload it to photobucket or something if they'd like. They sent me a legitimate link with no bugs attached. They said the picture was "cropped" to make it "less...nekkid X3". I then asked what prompted them to "draw" my avatar. They said they just saw me on the active users list. I'm going to agree with others that this person was simply trying to get attention of some sort.

Oh! I guess I was targeted and didn't really know it! xD
I was messaged, and I'm like... *thinking* Um... My avatar is a companion cube...
Luckilly I dont have any IM stuff so I didn't get targeted! x3 Cute ice creams, btw!

You know, I'd never really talk to strangers, but I'd sure that totally-not-supecting ice cream from you Eri xD

The thing is I was actually waiting on someone to finish my avi for but the name was different so I wasn't sure if it was the same person @_@ So then I asked said person if it was the person I knew then they went on with asking for a messenger contact.
