Metal Custom Event
In October (that'll be our second birthday, by the way), we will be holding a Metal Custom Event. In this event, you will be able to trade your metal custom orbs and crystals for mystery metal customs.
Not only will you see standard metal commons for Ay and Ara, but the site artists will be instructed to throw in some special customs as well... like metal uncommons, Lunarises, Vions, Hybrids, and maybe a Xaoc... maybe...
To make this event work, we are going to need to accumulate a HUGE number of designs...and that's where you come in! We are accepting submissions to the metal design grab bag here:
Metal Custom Event Thread
Prizes include 3 GP per accepted design and various tier bonuses. Designs will be inspected on Fridays.
Please read the rules of the thread before submitting. We hope this is going to be a really fun event, so save up your metal custom items in preparation (though I gather not many of you have been using them anyway!), and get coloring so we can save up the number of designs likely needed for such an event :)

Also, I don't know where you get the impression many people aren't using Metal orbs and crystals... I use every single one I get, which has been something, like, TWO in the past three months or so, lol. If you don't see many in the queue, it's just cos people don't have them, not cos they're hoarding them and just not using them. That's the impression I get from the Aywas community, anyway. ^_^;; Sigh, sorry for complaining, but I just imagine that this "Metal Custom Event," as exciting as it sounds (and it does sound like a lot of fun!), is something I -- and many, many others -- will not be able to participate in because we can't afford Metal crystals and orbs, that's all. Congratulations to Witchbaby for the win. ^.^

Dang, metal custom crystals just skyrocketed in price and I've never once run across an iron piece in explore or anywhere else on the site that I remember. :< Also, what Astra said. I've always used my metal custom items and I've still got quite a few metal crystal designs I've been wanting to upload. It really does sound like a fun event though. I've already submitted some designs and look forward to submitting more when I can, it's just the prices of metal items and the lack of iron pieces makes it a little hard to enjoy the event to it's fullest, at least at the moment. :

I should clarify that I'm not a digital artist -- the most I've ever done is overlay pre-existing PNGs for Derp babies. So between that and not being rich as all heck, there's really no way for me and many others to participate in the event unless you give us a chance to get orbs/crystals (or at least iron and silver pieces) from Explore before the event happens (or during?).

...I have two MCO's but they're slated for a pair of Drylis once I get the designs finalized. I have a FMCO too which is slated for a Cerby or something else once I figure the design out. I'm not rich, I make most of my BP through explore or games, and I'm saving up for BP shop pets right now. IF I can get my tablet working I'll do some designs for this event....but making it easier on US to get MCO'S/MCC's would be GREAT so we can ALL participate.

Silly question. Does this also include metal tokens? As in, Trash for Treasure, Trash Point, Metal Custom Tokens? Or just orbs and crystals?

...do you suppose you could open up the Mysterious Factory before the Metal Custom event? Cos most of us can't afford Metal Customs as it is, currently, and don't HAVE those items. :/
