Scavenger Hunt

Contests

Scavenger Hunt ends in approximately 3 Hours.

Please make use of this remaining time to ask any last questions in the questions forum (I will be going through it once more, then that's it). Please make an effort to ensure your List Submission questions are using HTML, also, as that makes life a whole lot easier in grading. Failure to use HTML means it'll take me longer to grade your list and you won't get a grade back as promptly.

Also-- don't forget the list submission is automated, so as soon as the clock hits midnight it's going to close. Don't wait until the last minute. Don't wait until the last minute for the Effort Prize thread either, because that'll close at midnight as well!

The new Plush Set will come tomorrow so you can finish up Scav and go see that new HP movie. ;)

Cheers!

I'm never participating in scav again. :( With all of the errors, I only barely got my submissions in... and then I didn't get the things I worked so hard on submitted to the effort thread because of all the time-outs! This event needs some serious reworking! And while we're at it, people who submit to the effort thread should get some extra points for their teams. I'm sick and freaking tired of people doing the tasks I'm signed up for faster because they're just cramming out two-second doodles, when I'm taking real time to create awesome things that get no recognition.

A LOT of teams spent time on things that DIDN'T get posted into the effort thread. Posting in there SHOULDN'T give you more points, since Scav is about doing as much as you can in the time you are given. That is why the effort thread was THERE, to give people who /did/ spend a lot of time on something, something nice to look forward to.

I don't even think our team posted in the effort thread, but I'm not bawling. We did a good job, and whatever we get from doing the scav we will be fine with. Who cares if we don't place? We had fun and made friends, and that is all I care about.

No one should get "extra points" for the effort thread, when that person is already getting a wicked item on site. That's not fair to the teams that did the most tasks.

Not only that, no one told you to spend a million hours on something for scav. That was YOUR choice, no one made you do it. Be happy with what you got in the end.

Entitlement, bleh. Don't like how scav is done? Don't participate. You aren't hurting anyone, makes it easier for other teams too, less teams to go against. :U

And Midnight is 12 AM no matter how you look at it. Why people can't tell time is beyond me. And why everyone waited to the end to submit everything is beyond me too. We submitted the proofs as the tasks were finished to avoid the rush at the end. Learn from your mistakes and prepare for next time, don't bawl.

... Midnight of the fifteenth... For some reason, I was under the impression that that meant we would be able to submit things on the fifteenth. Bother. I should have logged in three hours earlier toda... Yesterday. The fourteenth. Yeah. I had stuff I was going to submit. :P I still need to paint my Vion too.

In any case, Scav was teh funs! Now that I know what to expect, I'll be looking forward to the next one! Maybe get a team before the first day is over. XD

Wow my first scav was awesome! Despite some set backs in my group, it was a really great experience because it really forced me to do all sorts of creative things. My Photoshop and pet design skills really improved =)

Cant wait for January

*** second Luke and Asch***

#1 because it has not been said THANK YOU FOR THE AWESOME EVENT!
This was my first Scav, and I really enjoyed it. Guys who are arguing over anything, remember, it is a game. I know it can be frusterating if it didnt turn out perfectly the way you wanted, but in the end, smile and know you had fun, learned/accomplished something, and maybe got prizes ^_^
I will definately be participating again next year, and I'm thinking about starting my own team, with my best friend Fyre, but we shall see. I agree with the user who posted 11:49pm=14th 12:00am=15th. That is a fact (English Teacher) it is my job to teach you that in the 2nd grade ^_^ no offense, I understand the confusion... if you watch Are you smarter than a 5th grader, it is a common phenomenon to loose details like that as you get farther from school. I wish the effort thread had been open longer, but it is my own fault for not poking my team into submitting earlier. To close, thank you all admins and judges for the hard work and great event you have and are working on for us. You Rock!

Luke, thank you for proving why I should never participate again. After all, what isn't fair about penalizing my team for taking on someone who takes pride in their work, when they could have accepted someone who can pump out 20 half-assed tasks in the same amount of time it takes me to do one? Entering the effort thread benefits only the one person... not the whole team. So why waste a spot on someone like that, when it's only points that matter? At the very least, if someone from your team's submission is picked, everyone on the team should get a prize... to make up for the lack of points that person's effort represents.
