Babby Day

Babby Day
Today is Babby Day, where we celebrate all the mothers and fathers who have brought life into this world. Life is a beautiful thing, and we haven't done anything to appreciate it - but now we will.

But first, before we get into what items and pets are available for today, I want to tell you something. In the first few months of Aywas existence, I came across a rant thread made by Springdragon. In it, he told the Aywas community that his cat needed an operation, and that he didn't have the money - so the cat was going to die. Upon seeing that, I decided to run an event to raise money for Springdragon so that his cat may live. By selling some custom-colored hybrids, we raised the money. Springdragon's cat is still with him, and Springdragon's life was changed by all of those who participated. Our community had the power to do this.

See, our site is not like the others. We read the forum threads and care about the people behind the accounts. One of our users, Dana, has kept the Aywas community informed of a tragic situation throughout the year and a half Aywas has been online - she has PCOS, a reproductive disease that kept her from conceiving. But months later, something amazing happened: with the right medical attention, she was able to conceive a baby, no matter how much it seemed she would not be able to. But her fight is not over. In rant threads, she has told the community there are financial problems in her life that will make her and her husband's life tough.

Just like with Springdragon, our community has the power to help her, as she has helped the community. Our goal, beyond all other things, is to help people. We are not a faceless company that only cares about money. We are a family, a community, and when one of our community members needs our help, and the time is right that we can offer it, we help.

Can we help everyone? No - we would go broke, and we would be unable to help anyone. However, if we can help one person, then we're reaching our goal. If we can help two, that is even better. In the future, we'll help three. Four. Five. Making a difference in the lives of a few people is a huge part of what we stand for. It is what makes us different. It is what makes our community special and caring. We are a family, and we help each other.

Today is about honoring the parents onsite. All of you are special, and have brought life into the world - or are about to, and that's a beautiful thing. We chose today for Babby Day, the day that Dana told the Aywas community she'd have her baby shower, but this day is about all of us.

We are releasing these special Baby Hybrid alternate linearts:

User ID Number

One costs $25.00 via PayPal, and upon submitting your transaction, you will get a Pacifier item to submit your custom. The customs are "metal-only," no lineart changes. Why is it cash only? Half of the proceeds will be given to Dana, to help her, like we did for Springdragon, and half of the proceeds will be given to the Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Association, Inc. so that we can reach beyond our community and help as many people as we can, no matter how small our contribution may be. Anyone who purchases one of these customs will know they made a difference in the life of one fellow member, and in the lives of many unknown people that deserve their help.

However, as you may have noticed, this is not all we have released today. In the Seasonal Shop are a whole bunch of awesome new items and pets, available for BP:

Pretty pretty pets!

Some of the many awesome items in there, including maternity clothes!

In addition to this, if you visit the Advent Calender at any time today, you will pick up a Babby Bag. In it, you'll find an item to change your active pet randomly into one of the Baby Day pets (Babby Potion), a ticket to the twenty five Pacifier raffles (Pacifier Ticket), and a Derp Breeding Coin so you can submit for your own babbys. C:

Neat stuff inside!

If you are a mother or father who has brought a baby into this world during the time Aywas has (and will be) around, feel free to contact us for a Pacifier of your own. You are all special to us.

Today is a day for joy, and to celebrate life - and most of all, today is a day for hope... For any of you out there who struggle with PCOS or any other fertility problem, look at Dana and know that you can succeed. You can bring a new life into this world. There is always hope, no matter how bleak the situation looks. All of us here at Aywas offer you our best wishes and our support. You can do it.

Happy Babby Day!!

This site is so great for what you guys have done. I have a 8 month old and feel blessed to have him. I'm so happy that Dana is able to have a baby shower. She is very blessed indeed. :) Baby Day is such a great idea. No wonder why this site is so great.

This is so sweet.
And yay - I got a Baby Griffin from the potion. But I kind of want four more to try for the Meep, Cereus, Lunaris, and Bumble. Ah well! My cute little Griffy is enough for me. C: -snuggles her-

Heh, one my really good friends is having a baby, considering when she got pregnant was the same time she went home to bury her sister it's been a blessing for her. I'm glad to see that we can make a difference here. (mild squueeee moment : bought the Shu and with the potion got the griffin! Yea! I usually have horrible luck with the potions!)

I am once again so impressed by the people on this site! I have no idea what I'll do with the pacifier item, I can't design a custom if it meant my life, but I had to donate just to support Dana and the cause. Congrats Dana on the baby and I hope my little bit helps :)

Congratulations to you Dana! <3
I'm so happy you were able to conceive! I can understand what a trial becoming a mother can sometimes be. My first Son was born in 2008. That pregnancy was very difficult, and had to be delivered 21/2 months early finally due to Pre-eclampsia. He got extremely sick in NICU and we almost lost him. He's doing wonderfully now though, and with some therapy is even catching up to his age group. :D
My other son was just born this April, and was the product of another extremely difficult pregnancy. Thankfully he was only a month early, and had much less difficulty at birth. He's also doing very well now as well.

I think this Babby Day celebration is a really touching thing. I think it's wonderful that we can come together as a community and do so much good. This is the thing that's really drawn me to Aywas more than anything else. I've never felt such warmth from the Admin and togetherness in a large community. I am happy to be a part of that community. <3

Wow this is by far the best event I have ever seen on any website! I wish I could help out but I'm in about the same boat ): got fired when work found out I'm pregnant so hubs had to get a second job. We should be ok though (: as long as the lady we rent from is ok with us being a few days late x.x! (and I'm very sure she will be). Huge congrats to Dana, I know how amazing it feels to finally get pregnant after trying so hard for so long, and big hugs to the community and staff for helping out! You're all so wonderful ^^!

My fiancee and I donated as well. We understand how hard things can be in life. Nothing is easy. My best friend whom I've known for 20 years this September has been given a bad throw in life. She was diagnosed with siroccos of the liver, a deadly disease where the body attacks itself, and hers is auto immune, meaning a liver transplant will not solve her problems. Because of this and other medical conditions shes had basically all her life, she cannot have children. Which I know pains her because she wants kids. She turned to my fiancee and I (we're both female. And yes we're gay) and asked us if we'd give her a child. I stepped up to the plate and plan on having a baby for her in the next few years. Even though I don't want kids myself, knowing that doing this would bring joy into her life for whatever time she has left on this Earth makes me happy. Even for those people who have surrogated for someone else less fortunate should also be commemorated. It really takes someone of a big heart to do what I will eventually be doing.
