I think other IM clients would work well, but how does this work?

Will the account be logged into just one computer, or will you all log in at random times to check for IMs? If it's not logged in all the time, you could get quite the lag if you receive multiple offline IMs.

Another thing to consider is that each time you log onto another computer, AIM will send the first computer a message saying they have logged in more than once and will ask if you wish to sign out of the other computer... I think it stops IMs from being received on the first logged in computer because it's been logged in elsewhere...

It could work over very well... can you please explain in the news article a little more about how it works?

What a great idea! I agree with the others though it might be a good idea to get an MSN too and maybe even a skype.

Isn't there a program that allows multiple IM clients to talk to each other? I haven't used IMs in forever, so I forget what it's called or if it's still around...
