Don't forget that the Art Gallery closes its submissions for the Opterix at 11:59 PM tonight. It is currently feeling sad and lonely, as it hasn't gotten a lot of submissions. If this continues, we'll be removing the "one artwork win per month" rule to ensure we get six a week.
So why not give it a shot? You have a decent chance of winning!

The rules that said about something getting accepted and to please not submit any more, that through me off, because when you submit a drawing it says it's been accepted. So i figured we could only submit one piece of work per month. O___O I'll get to work on a bird. :P

I kind of forgot about it honestly, though that's just a me thing, especially when I've got a lot of other art projects going on. I've been thinking about entering at some point though I'll admit, I'm a little iffy about the copyright rules. D: Maybe I missed it, but is it ever said ahead of time what the prizes are for each week? Or do you not find out until winners are chosen?

I honestly think it's just because this is a new (And somewhat difficult) design. I also don't agree with removing the one month wait ban. I wouldn't bother entering at all if this happened considering, as said before, all the same people would be winning consecutively. The only reason I haven't entered this is because i'm busy all week and I couldn't find enough time to just sit and work on this. :C I'll try to come up with something that has effort equal to originality, but it all rests on whether I can find time to get it done.

I admit, I'm mostly waiting for a theme to really sink my teeth into. The Opterix theme is okay, but not something I see myself enjoying for fun.
As for the once a month, I think it's a tad boring that artists only submit once a month. Then again I'm a tough-lover when it comes to teaching other artists to buck up and work harder. I don't really care about the winning so much, I just like to see all the artists contribute and see all the different pictures. <3

@L N: Basically every site ever has a rule like that. Neopets certainly did with their art gallery. It's basically a formality to protect the site.
I'd say that the lack or entries is a combination of having so many winners for Lunaris day and the fact that the Opterix is guilty of the most heinous of crimes, Not Being A Wolf or Cat. Poor thing is destined to die alone and unloved unless it undergoes dangerous experimental plastic surgery to be reconstructed into a dog/cat/dragon/etc.
Anyway, I usually sit out of art things, but if there's a shortage of entries, I have an idea for a picture involving this pet.
