Don't forget that the Art Gallery closes its submissions for the Opterix at 11:59 PM tonight. It is currently feeling sad and lonely, as it hasn't gotten a lot of submissions. If this continues, we'll be removing the "one artwork win per month" rule to ensure we get six a week.
So why not give it a shot? You have a decent chance of winning!

I drew something for this week and was all proud of myself until I remember my piece got chosen for Lunaris Day, so I can't participate. XD

(I'm sure I know the answer but I'll ask anyways just to be safe) If it's colored based off the coloration of the Opterix, it isn't a copyright problem, right?

i don't think your problem is a lack of artists, i think many of them just got scared off because of all the "anything you draw related to aywas is now property of the site, not the artist that drew it" business that was brought up last time.

I'd love to re-enter, but I also respect the no entering-for-a-month-if-you-won rule. A lot of potential entrees seem to just be terribly shy, which is very sad! That rule exists because it's giving /everyone/ a chance to get their picture in the art gallery, whether you're good or not. If you don't win one contest, there will be a lot more of them to enter in the future. You just can't get discouraged that easily, is what I'm trying to say, I guess. xD

Perhaps it's simply not sustainable as a weekly contest? And should be monthly like most everything else?

I think no matter what, you shouldn't remove the "one win per month". Otherwise you're just gonna have the same winners over and over again in a month O_o That would suck more then less contest entries XD

I love the Opterix, I just can't draw well. XD But oh well, I'm going to see if I can draw something decent and scan it in soon. :3
