This very, very rare item was recently stolen from someone. How? A scamming lair partner.

Please, please, PLEASE think about who you plan to let onto your account. As Aywas gets bigger, scammers start showing up, which is unfortunately what one user experienced tonight. A nice, friendly user was really a scammer - and stole all the rare items off their "new partner"'s account.

Your BIGGEST defense against scammers is to look at the activity of the person you're considering let onto your account. How long have they been involved in the community? Do they make contributions - pet colors, suggestions, wearables, etc? When did they register? Do they have things of value (customs, custom HA items, etc) that they wouldn't want to lose by scamming?

Let's face it - if you have nice things, someone will want to take them from you. Don't let it happen. Make sure that the person you're planning on trusting doesn't seem like someone who is obviously not up to par with you, riches wise. If you have a lot of nice things, they should too. Otherwise, who's to say they won't steal yours?

Lair partners can make Aywas a better, more personal game for both players. But you need to make sure you look at how trustworthy, based on activity, that person is. That way you have a better net to filter out the scammers.

I hope that person is alright. I knew Bluejay for over 3 months before I moved in with her. Its sad because, after that, the person will have a psychological problem with sharing with others for a long while. Since Blue isn't on as much, we were thinking of maybe making this a three-person account, but I think I might hold off for awhile now.

This is horrible. I think i hear an angry mob coming to throw the person off the waterfall. Its horrible to think that because someone is too lazy to try to earn things themselves they steal someone elses suff. Worse it being someone who trusted them.

I am sorry to hear this, very. This community is full of awesome, kind, and generous people, who do a LOT to help each other out. When some one does something like this, it abuses everyone's trust, and hurts the community as a whole, as well as the innocent victim. I hope the victim was able to get this fixed, and if not... If there's anything I can do, I'd like to help.

This is a very upsetting things to hear. I suppose its naive to think that this never could have happened in the aywas community but...so many people share lairs and I haven't heard of this happening before that it comes as a bit of a shock. May my sincerest heartfelt apologies go out to the person who was the victim of this scam.

I really dislike scammers. I see them on another game I am a moderator for.
On that game the rule is one account per player. No multiple accounts are sharing accounts. I have seen the reported messages where one player is saying things like "Give me your password and I will give you 10 passes on your account". Or they need your password to put a picture or graphic on their card.
Most are done by their friends or they get hacked by strangers due to really simple password.
I always tell them to never give their passwords to anyone including, family and friends. And to report anyone asking them for their password.

On another game by the same company the players can share a part of another players account. But the "partner" can not sell items that belong to the accounts owner.

So maybe something can be done with partners where they can not have access to the account owners inventory.
Perhaps a special password that the owner only can create to enter their inventory. That way if a "partner" gets into the inventory it is due to the owner giving out their special password.

Not that people shouldn't be really careful about this sort of thing, but I thought before we could have a lair partner, we were required to submit a doc to staff saying which things and pets belong to who, in case someone decided to run off with something and how things would be split if the lair partners split?
