Public Service Announcement

This very, very rare item was recently stolen from someone. How? A scamming lair partner.

Please, please, PLEASE think about who you plan to let onto your account. As Aywas gets bigger, scammers start showing up, which is unfortunately what one user experienced tonight. A nice, friendly user was really a scammer - and stole all the rare items off their "new partner"'s account.

Your BIGGEST defense against scammers is to look at the activity of the person you're considering let onto your account. How long have they been involved in the community? Do they make contributions - pet colors, suggestions, wearables, etc? When did they register? Do they have things of value (customs, custom HA items, etc) that they wouldn't want to lose by scamming?

Let's face it - if you have nice things, someone will want to take them from you. Don't let it happen. Make sure that the person you're planning on trusting doesn't seem like someone who is obviously not up to par with you, riches wise. If you have a lot of nice things, they should too. Otherwise, who's to say they won't steal yours?

Lair partners can make Aywas a better, more personal game for both players. But you need to make sure you look at how trustworthy, based on activity, that person is. That way you have a better net to filter out the scammers.

It's very sad to see this happened. That's why I don't have a partner either. Unless, they are family or I've known them quite awhile. It's hard to just pick someone you really don't know or have much info on.

Again, Sorry to hear whoever happened this too. *loves on* =(

Pooling in resources from both sides=/= Getting more together =/= (1+1=3)

That person who joined accounts just for the sake of items is terrible..

I can't believe scammers would exist on such a great, friendly site as this. =/ People that take advantage of others' kindness angers me, a lot. D: I'm sorry this happened to this user. *huggles*

Reminds me of this bratty girl in my grade - she had such fun scamming 6-year-olds on Neopets. And she was pissed off as hell when she got caught. I'm sorry something like this had to happen for people to notice scammers, but since there's a news post I assume the scammer was dealt with, which is awesome.

This scares me. :( You poor person, whoever you are that was scammed. O hope all goes good for you!

It is one thing to be scammed because someone guesses your password or such, but this adds a whole new level of betrayal. Personally, I would feel invaded that someone I thought was wonderful and a friend you can count on, would turn out to be a con artist. As for slash, thumbs up on caring about a user. I hope you were able to regain all her/his pets and items. I

Who would ever do that to another living person? SHame on you, you dirty rat!
