The constant earthquakes in the fissures unearthed fifteen eggs...
There don't seem to be any more, but maybe another large earthquake in that region will jog more from the depths. There certainly are many of them.
The lava and warmth in that area seems to have had an effect on them. If you put your hand to the shell, something's moving around inside.
Inside is a Serrul, a new rare genus.

Where it may be the answer to life, the universe, and everything, it isn't the reason this number is important. 42 refers to the number of users that will be receiving refunds of their coins/fertility potions and, in some cases, their breeding canceled because they didn't read the rules (or made an error in submitting a breeding). It took me several hours going through every single page of the queue searching out mistakes made on current breedings.
Please take your time to review the descriptions on each coin as you use it (as well as the potion) BEFORE you submit the breeding! We have a breeding and species tutorial to reference off of for a reason, if you don't know what 'common species' is and whatnot. Please, please remember to do so, else your breeding will most likely sit and have to wait to be fixed later on. It only serves in backing up the system more.
I'll sift through again sometime in the near future, but for now I'm going to toss the refunded items to people that need them. If by tomorrow you have not received a refund on an outstanding breeding that you know is due for cancellation (and you realized your mistake) PM me tomorrow with the IDs in the breeding, coin used, and when you submitted it, along with what you did wrong.
Another small addition; whereas Mauri (#1010) is amazing at helping out in the breeding sector like a superhero sidekick, she is not the one to go to with pertinent breeding-related questions. She normally cannot give you answers, so please direct all queries to me, not her! If I don't respond outright, too, please give me a poke. I get about a page of messages per day in my Aywas inbox, and I don't mean to leave anyone out. :]

Our server will be going offline at 1:30 AM AST for 10-15 minutes so we can upload these for you:
- Pet Pages -- go to your pet's lookup
- Post Preview
- Quote Post
- More Advanced Item Search
- Hide Notices
- Lair Defaults Your unsorted is your default now
- Group multiple pets in lair pick all your pets' groups and hit Update Groups
- Remove pet from lair when trading pets no more glitch
- Custom Faunas Assign Fauna on pet lookup. Costs 3 GP. If you remove your fauna later it will disappear forever.
- Faster Fauna search
- Set pets in user shops Put pet in shop from Pet Lookup
- Advanced Pet Search Check it out, it's under Item Search and it is very sexy
- Fountain to restore pet and fauna's energy every 30 minutes (linking in a sec)

Rules
An update has been made to the Terms of Service.
Please read the document in full for the changes. Points of interest are:
- stricter rules against users who submit fraudulent transactions via the Purchase GP feature
- a "no begging" rule
- a "no reserving posts in official Aywas contests" rule
- fixed link to newsletter deactivation
- requirement to submit accurate information during account creation and maintenance and to not provide fraudulent information in any situation
I know this news post is boring compared to shiny stuff with cute pets and items, but... :( It's needed.
I'm sure you'll enjoy the "no begging" rule, regardless.

There was a lot of art that we weren't able to add to the site as site pets for Valentine's - so we're going to be giving them away for free.
Join the NPC Nova on this thread on Feb 23, 1:00 PM aywas time, for a chance to get a pet of yours turned into one of the excess Valentines pets as a custom.
EDIT: Posted instructions on the thread. It's basically a slower version of Risk, and random.
Orimi
Staff has been debating long and hard about the Orimi. A few have had the suggestion to keep the Orimi as it is and release the standing pose as an alt lineart (which means you can make it with orbs like a normal Orimi, but it can only breed with other standing Orimis and not regular Orimis). What do you think?
