Site Update
Good evening ladies and gents! I have an announcement for you all, something to potentially spark some interest on the breeding end...
Cash contracts!
(disclaimer: Frey's not actually setting any money on fire, promise!)
Yes, Slash allocated some funds towards expanding the breeding team and making breedings go by faster. I have four slots left open for this after extending the option to folks currently on staff. This means I am looking for 3 LBC and 1 EBC person.
Terms of the contract are $100/week, 10 pairs. This means your work must be done in 7 days. We are testing to see if this is feasible in our budget so we cannot guarantee the long-term, so consider this a pilot program for our breeding extension. Once we see how funds can handle this, we'll see where we go from there. Testing phases have to come first!
But for now, we want to get some more applicants for those two positions! So if this interests you, scurry on over to the LBC application or you can check the BC application for the EBC position -- just make one baby per pair, and make two of the three as EVIL as you can! I want to see your nasty, gory, bloody abilities.
Send all applications to [email protected] and specify in your application that you're applying for contract. Hope to see those applications soon! As a note, you HAVE to be over 18 to apply for contracts.

Return of the Art Gallery!
Contests

I am very happy to bring back the weekly Art Gallery competition after months of it being down.
If you remember from waaaay back, you might recall that our last theme was Aywas Pottery/Sculpture and we had a lot of fun entries. Here's our six winners that finally get to be shown off!

They won:

Congratulations! :3 And enjoy your prizes.
Here is our new upcoming theme lineup!
Aug 12 - Aug 18: Ay Universe
This will make more sense soon...
Aug 19 - Aug 25: Ara and Ay Landscapes*
Aug 26 - Sept 1: Paleos
The gallery will be judged every Sunday, so you'll notice that the dates for all the themes now run Sunday thru Saturday.
While I have your attention, I also want to reiterate some Art Gallery rules--all of which are posted directly on the gallery page, so you have no reason not to follow them.
The most important one is All artwork must be your work - art thieves get banned, no exceptions!
We are not kidding with this. If I see artwork that is traced, yanked from dA or otherwise stolen, you will receive a ban. Upload images carefully.
Your submission will NOT count if you do not have your name and ID on it. Even if it's the equivalent of the Mona Lisa in Aywas form, you will not be a featured winner if you neglect this rule.
Remember: Artwork MUST FEATURE Aywas pets, Aywas NPCs, or the Aywas world in some way. If it is not obviously Aywas we may not accept it.
Thank you!

If you're a pet colorist and need an assignment, please PM me. My inbox got a little crazy. XD
Similarly, if you are an official colorist looking for work and have time for an especially quick turnaround, note that in your PM. Thanks!

Some more small tweaks
Site Update
Casually steals image off Eri's post
- For those of you who requested that the CDs stay on the site but in a non-interest form, your requests have been granted. CDs were re-enabled but they do not yield interest anymore, for those of you desiring to lock up your money to keep from spending it!
- The Aywapedia has gained a much needed "Show only pets I have not captured" checkbox. You can now perform searches and include that option to show only pets you have yet to capture.
- Speaking of the Aywapedia, some convenient boxes have shown up to Shop Search that species for either GP or BP so you don't have to go through the process of searching it yourself. One click and the pet is at your fingertips...
- As promised, the anonymous bank gifting was enabled, so you can now send people BP and GP anonymously. In additional, anonymous gifting from the inventory was enabled as well, giving you the ability to gift people items without them knowing it's you...
- Someone had requested the ability to delete items in your wardrobe if you don't want them there anymore. The Scroll of Transportation still facilitates moving items from the wardrobe to the inventory, but you can delete items permanently from your Wardrobe and your ownership if you so desire for free.
Small suggestions like these have been incredibly popular add-ons lately, so if you have any small tweaks to suggest, be sure to head on over to the Suggestions forum to voice your idea.

Artist Paintbrushes
Items
Due to the previous popularity of the Gold Paintbrush, a couple of its friends have come to play.
If you're not certain what an artist paintbrush is, it's an item you can trade to an artist for their services. The artist can then redeem the paintbrush for USD via PayPal for their work.
The Gold Paintbrush is still redeemable for $15 USD.
The Blue Paintbrush is redeemable for $10 USD.
The Metal Paintbrush is redeemable for $5 USD.
These items are now available on the Purchase GP page for USD. Originally we had the Gold Paintbrush in the GP Shop but it caused us a bit of problem, so we're going to test the paintbrushes here for direct USD as there will be 100% no issue in redeeming them in this method :)
If you recall when the Gold Paintbrush was in the GP Shop, it was at a price of 45 GP. Due to the nature of it being for USD now, the price was dropped to $30.00 USD. The other paintbrushes are $20 and $10 respectively.
If you haven't been able to find someone to make custom artwork for you, scoop up a few brushes (or trade someone for them, if you don't have PayPal) and commission away!
Now, some changes (good ones!):
Originally, the brushes were only acceptable to be redeemed for custom designs. However, reintroducing them, we have changed that. Before, you couldn't use them to commission predicts and custom bases (uncolored), but are now allowing that. Custom bases (uncolored) have no restrictions, but the following restrictions on commissioning predicts with paintbrush items is as follows:
- A single metal prediction cannot be redeemed for more than $2.00
- A single LBC prediction cannot be redeemed for more than $3.00 USD
- A single BC/HBC/etc prediction cannot be redeemed for more than 5.00 USD
Why are these restrictions implemented? This is to be fair to the current artists for the breeding team.
You can mix and match your purchases with paintbrushes as long as the value of a prediction isn't exceeded in the total. For example, you could commission a set of LBC predictions (two babies for a total of $6) and a set of MBC predictions (two babies for a total of $4) in exchange for a Blue Paintbrush, and this would be acceptable.
Also, to clarify, with anything without a restriction (like pet designs), you can pay more than one brush for a design. You can also use these to commission PSD color jobs, not only completely 100% unique designs. :)
Please keep in mind that sending brushes to accounts upon purchase is a manual effort, so please be patient when waiting for your brush~
Have fun!

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Site Update
Actually I don't have any ugly to talk about. But we do have some good and some bad.
First, the bad:
- Creating new CDs has been disabled. After a lot of discussion, it seems that the income being yielded by CDs is causing a lot of detriment to the economy. You can still collect CDs that are maturing on the date that they mature as usual. It's a sad choice, but one we've had to make. We've been aware that the CDs are causing economy damage for a while, and while it will hurt to lose that income, the economy will be better as a result without GP and BP inflation.
Now, the good:
- You can now see when your breedings were assigned to a helper (breeding artist) by viewing them in the standing stones.
- You can now set your pet's breeding rules on the edit pet page, which will list them as searching for breeding mates
- You can now search for pets that are searching for breeding mates in the Search function (meaning, they have breeding rules). I think eventually we will expand this, but for now here's a simplified version of finding mates and viewing their rules.
- You can cancel your customs in your custom waiting queue if you see anything wrong with it/no longer want it, and resubmit as necessary.
- This isn't anything you can see, but two updates to the breeding panel make reviewing and handling predict submissions much less strenuous for the predicts team.
Coming up in the next hour or so:
- Being able to send people BP and GP anonymously from the Bank page. This is being worked on right now
That's all I got for you ~

Release the babies!
Rules
Two things that should please you all were discussed tonight with Slash among a few other things that as soon as we iron them out will prove to be hopefully very happy things for you all.
First is that we are now giving out Hybrid PSDs.* This means any hybrid breeding, from EBC, BC, or HBC coins (and normal RBC hybrids too!). Just be nice to your artists if you ask them for the PSD files, don't swamp them too much! Use the Offspring PSD Search to look for your babby artists and ask, unless you know who did your offspring. You can always check the Breeding Blogs as well to see who has your pair.
* I want to add though that we are NOT allowing people to come to admins/mods directly and ask for them to give out PSDs. Artists only. Search for your artist. Artists are also not allowed to give out any files that are not their own, so don't ask them for PSD files that you know they don't have!
Second, we're going to be phasing out BC candies (and maybe make them have a new use someday) when you want to submit predicts for your BC/EBC/HBC breedings. Hopefully this will encourage people to submit them without having to pay an extra fee. For now, don't use your candies any longer, they aren't needed for breedings from hereon out (but we cannot refund anything prior to this newspost). Hang onto them so we can figure out a nice way to use them!
If anything else comes up I'll be sure to post it! Look below for the raffle though, it's really important and really cool (and I want some of those pairs ahhhhh).
