I am selfishly very excited about this next little update.
1 Month Upgrade Pendants are now usable from your inventory!
Up until this point, I've been activating them manually and it's a lot more tedious than you might imagine, so I am super happy about this--and if you use these, I'm sure you are, too! :D
(I'm still manually doing Forever Upgrades, if you are fortunate enough to obtain one. Yasu's working on those too, though!)

Spooky Forest Updates + Reminders!

The Howling Orimi is signaling that more pets have been added to the Spooky Forest!
The Museum is now offering a Spooky Forest Collection! If you turn in one of each of the items it asks for, you will receive a Shiny Cauldron:
This special cauldron will be a necessary ingredient in our upcoming Cauldron custom feature, but because we can't give away thousands of customs, if you end up not using/selling your Shiny Cauldron, it will work like the Star Ticket. At the end of the month, we will be hosting drawings for cool prizes, and having a Shiny Cauldron in your inventory will automatically enter you!
The Designated Driver Reve is here to remind you that you have until 11:59 p.m. tonight to get your vote in for which free monthly custom you want!
And don't forget to show us your best cake-baking skills in the Art Gallery! We are accepting entries until 11:59 p.m. this evening! :)

Ay vs. Ara Gameplay

Roughly a year ago, the world of Ay fell into Famine's grasp.
The idea of famine itself as a curse seemed to be the most benevolent outcomes of the apocalypse: Conquest and War were plundering and violent, and Death was too final, but maybe you could avoid Famine.
The change wasn't obvious at first. Famine did not have the brazen swiftness of the other horses, and consequently proved to wreak the most havoc on Ay--and by extension, Ara--quietly. As sources of plant life began to wither and pools of water receded, denizens tried moving away from the decay, squandering resources and facilitating the horse's reign. Patches of Ay essentially began to die, and there was little anyone could do to stop it.
Ara emerged after Ay had already been afflicted with famine. While it enjoyed pockets of fresh air, the threat to this new world was palpable. A refuge for those fleeing the world of Ay, Ara quickly became susceptible to the inevitable presence of relentless disease, its food supply fleeting. In actuality, not only was Famine a force that stole life energy, but in some ways it was all the other three horses combined.
One year later, we have the chance to help the two worlds recover.
In Ay vs. Ara, you are a loyal dweller of your team region and will be summoned by the earth to provide the items each respective place needs to be refueled.
Each hour, your region will ask for a different item. During that hour, your objective is to turn in as many of that item as you are willing to part with. The more you turn in, the more points you will accumulate for yourself and your team.
Points are based on rarity. Our regions are humble and will only be asking for r10-r40 items. r10 items are worth 1 point each, r20 items are worth 2 points each, etc. The regions will be asking for the same items so that one area doesn't have a huge advantage or disadvantage over another, but this means you'll have to scramble for the items in demand!
So, what do you get out of all of this? -- Other than the satisfaction of helping out Ay or Ara and the thrill of competition (and bragging rights if you win). The points that you earn will be used as currency in the Ay vs. Ara edition of the Seasonal Shop! To clarify, being on the winning team does not impact your prizes since your points are based on individual contributions.
Time is of the essence: you will have 48 hours to help your team.
The last hour of the event is from 11:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. on October 7th (Sunday night).
Get ready to help your teammates out and show some Ay and Ara pride!
Swing by Aywas Talk to find your team thread if you haven't met up with anyone on your side yet. :3
The event should start at 12:00:01 a.m. (in just about an hour) if you guys don't lag the site too much... XD
Yasu and I will be around for as long as we can to make sure things run smoothly.
Note: Everything is run from the main Ay vs. Ara page, so that's where you will go to see what item you need, for turn-ins, tc.

Another Spooky Night!

I assume Halloween Pumpkins and Melo Pumpkins are showing up in decent amounts for you? :3
If you think you're pumpkin-crazy now, just wait until you visit the Pumpkin Patch!
Now you can fill your favorite pumpkins up with candy, BP/GP, pets, a fun Halloween message, or anything else (appropriate) that you can think of! The instructions are simple: deposit a pumpkin in order to collect a pumpkin; you can collect one every ten minutes.
In case the spirit of Halloween tempts you to be an evil trickster, despite the pumpkins being anonymous, Yasu and I can track every single action in the patch. Don't get any harebrained ideas.
Speaking of the Pumpkin Patch, I've invited the Hocus-Pocus Tavi to travel from its humble, orange abode to this news post to let you all in on a little secret.
It appears that from the magic of Halloween and the power of Aywas' birthday, a new item has been forged that has the power to summon retired lines from limbo!
Introducing: Antiquity Staves, a line of retired Raw pet custom-creators!

--- Like their Raw Crystal counterparts, the Antiquity Staves come in Metal, Blue and Gold flavors.
The best part? They work indefinitely and on all retired raw genuses.
But of course there's a teensy weensy catch--the staves will only go on sale once a year.
In honor of their debut, all three Antiquity Staves will be on sale in the GP Shop from now until October 7th at 11:59 PM. After that, they will only be available in May of each year for approximately three days (exact dates and duration TBD). You will also see the Staves make an appearance as contest prizes and maybe rotate into the SP shop in limited numbers. This keeps Raw pets and the staves themselves obtainable but valuable.
And now for a couple quick reminders!
If you want a shot at an icon by Cat (#3833) like what you see above, make sure you post here within the next four hours or so! (By 11:59 PM tonight!)

Welcome to October--the greatest month on Aywas!
You've been celebrating with streamers, gushing about your favorite site memories and ducking Famine's gaze already, but the fun is just beginning! Mwuahahaha.
