Do you dream in green?
And by that I mean if you've ever considered volunteering for a Moderator position here, now is your time to shine!
We are looking to considerably expand the Aywas moderating staff. :3
If you love Aywas from the features to the community and are online for more hours than you care to admit, you're just the person we're looking for!
To apply, you must fill out an application found here.
Send the completed application to [email protected].
Please note that if you have applied any time since our last round of hiring, your application is on file for review. If you want to send in an updated application, though, that is perfectly acceptable.
Here are some things to keep in mind!
- Moderating is a volunteer position and is therefore not a paid position. However, the hours are flexible and we're a pretty fun bunch to be around. *wink*
- There is no ID# requirement, and you do not have to be a social butterfly, but we will expect you to be an active player who is very familiar with the site.
- Your primary responsibilities as a moderator are helping other users and mediating conflict. Once you have a strong command of these basic tenets, you may have the opportunity to work on other projects.
- Every new moderator gets a trial period. If we decide to bring you on board, you have the chance to work with us for a few months before "locking" yourself into the position. :3
If you have any specific questions, you can direct them to either myself or Aetheria (#46). Put "Mod App Question" or something similar in the subject line and we'll do our best to answer your inquiries!
The "deadline" to get your application in for this round of hiring is February 3 at 11:59 p.m. AST.
Aeth and I will begin reviewing applications on February 4th and will make hiring decisions within a couple weeks.

And the sign said "Long-haired freaky people are welcome to apply!"
Good luck!

New SCC Artist + PB Update
Site Update
We have added a new artist to the SCC artist family!
Desu (#334) is now Open!

If you'd like to set up a commission, look over the instructions on the SCC page. :)
I also come to you with a small update to our Paintbrush family!

We've updated this item (and the description!) to include commissions for HA clothing/items.
This means you can use BP and GP like normal to commission someone, but if you are wanting to go the USD route, you'll want to use one of these brushes. :3 We had a couple questions/requests for this and decided to extend the item to cover HA things as well.
Enjoy!

And be sure to check out the update below on Quick Stock if you haven't seen it already. :3

Quickstock has arrived!
New Feature
a Quick Stock link in our Inventory!

There are a few things to keep in mind with Quick Stock, so listen up. :3
- A note already exists for this, but Quick Stock does not work on charge-based items at this time.
- You can stock up to 20 different items at a time. If you go over that amount, you'll receive an error message and be directed to a page that will let you remove some selections before proceeding.
- There is a confirmation screen, so make sure you review it!
- Your current options are Shop, Wardrobe, Trash Dump, and Deposit Box.
- Yasu said there may be a spike in lag with a mass release, so be mindful of that. We'll adjust things as necessary.
Lastly, though staff did test this feature, a mass release might reveal some issues we hadn't come across. If you do encounter a problem with Quick Stock, please make a glitch thread and we will do our best to tend to it.
(And oh yeah, those shiny food items up there are new and stocking in two of our food shops!)

Help us manage your pixels!
Site Update
0.47% full, using 9.7 GB of your 2.01 TB

Why is the above such an important and exciting thing to report? This means the Aywas Breeding Email is no longer in danger of hitting space capacity! The above is the space we now have for the Aywas Breeding Drive, thanks to Google Drive's awesomeness. Slash upgraded us tonight and this means a big announcement for how users will send PSD files to us, among other things.
Gmail was a finicky thing for awhile, and required searching by email name for things -- thus, we needed users to name their email titles with the ID of their custom and that was sufficient. Drive, however, stores the actual files, so the file itself needs to be named in order to find it. This means there's no more problems locating a PSD file, it should be able to be found with ease!
However this will mean that we need some help from the users. From now on we request that all files sent to [email protected] now have the actual PSD file labeled with the ID of your pet as well. Why? That way when we download and extract the file to upload to Drive, we won't have to rename it, and the process will go by a lot faster.
Please note however that we do not want you re-sending files in that you already have sent previously. Those will be taken care of gradually until all files are moved to Drive. From now on, name your PSD files with the above information and it'll help us a lot.
Remember, that now means:
NO: fluffymeloswirlcake.psd
YES: 293812.psd
We also could use some people that have time on their hands to begin moving files over to Drive. It's going to be a long process, but this will make it tons easier for us to also send files off to users in the future if requested. We may be able to regularly maintain a request thread if we get this done. It was something we were going to do in the past, but the off-site method we had going on just didn't work out as planned. Drive, however, is going to really help us out with sorting and filing for us OCD organizers on staff.
If you're interested in helping maintain the Drive account, email me at [email protected] with a bit of info below...
1. Username/ID:
2. How long you've been on Aywas:
3. Are you familiar with Gmail and Drive, and how to navigate them?:
4. How many hours can you dedicate per week to moving files to the Drive?:
5. List any notable accomplishments you have had on the site thus far:
6. Any other information you want to add:
The above questions are to make sure there's trustworthy people accessing the Gmail account. We're looking for probably 3-4 people to start, and there will be at least GP compensation for those that want to volunteer.
This is certainly a fun upgrade, and it means that we'll be able to maintain your babbies and customs a lot better. We promise to use only ethical means to herd them to their new home!
