Fauna Day Seasonal Shop - Part 1

What's that?! Pixel Cat seems to have spotted a flurry of fauna in the Seasonal Shop!
Please note that this is Part I of the shop, as we have even more goodies to share with you tomorrow. :3 If you want to go ahead and get started on your collection though, let me show you some of the shinies we're stocking.
From under the sea to posh corgis, there are fauna from just about everywhere for you to enjoy!
Psst. You can even buy a fauna version of the stickers you've been collecting. You're welcome.
If you love fauna so much that you wish you could be one, maybe you'll be willing to settle for dressing your Human Avatar up like some of our classic ones!
You can buy individual Merino pieces, a mix-and-match Rare Slug Wardrobe (which contains a whopping 14 pieces!), a Raven's Cage and more! Check out all of the wearable items via Preview Wardrobe and see if you know which fauna inspired them. :3
Hiding among all the fauna and garb is a Bextini, which is an alcoholic energy drink you can stock up on to fuel your pets in the forest! (Though their ability to snag items and other pets for you might start to go downhill.)
And though this event is focused on fauna, we had to have a few of the big pets join the party!
Will you give your Merino Colchis a Merino fauna? Or maybe see how they react to a Green Mantis Shrimp?
Have fun pairing your pets and fauna!

Trans Day of Remembrance

The Trans Day of Remembrance is November 20th this year. Normally, I don't make news posts about all of the awareness icons that show up on the sidebar, but this one is important enough to me that I need to.
This day was started by Gwendolyn Ann Smith, a trans activist, in memory of Rita Hester. She was a transgender woman killed in 1998. The day is a vigil for all of the transgender people killed in the previous year.
"The Transgender Day of Remembrance seeks to highlight the losses we face due to anti-transgender bigotry and violence. I am no stranger to the need to fight for our rights, and the right to simply exist is first and foremost. With so many seeking to erase transgender people -- sometimes in the most brutal ways possible -- it is vitally important that those we lose are remembered, and that we continue to fight for justice."

This may not be a very fun topic for Aywas, but this our reality -- mine, yours, everyone's. While it's difficult to hold a vigil online, please at least look at the list of transgender people killed this past year and remember them, think of them, at least once during the upcoming twenty four hours.
I would really appreciate it.
I personally donated $100 to GLAAD in honor of the day.

Fauna Fauna Fauna!

The fauna versions of Moe the merchant and the massive baby bunny cuddle pile monster have a few announcements for you!
Join the event creator, Azi, in Aywas Talk for the Official Fauna Day FAQ & Chat! She's really great about giving information and answering your questions. :)
Yes, that's right, Eri. The event is formally called Fauna Day, not Fauna Forest.
That's just the area, silly. Get it right!!
Speaking of the forest, two additional fauna have been added--the Natural and Rare Hibernation!
All of the fauna also want to remind you that while quests are enabled in Fauna Forest, there's no reward or anything for completing them. Since this is primarily a fauna event, and not a pet event, some of the quests won't be able to be done.
Hope you're having a real hoott!

Finding Fauna Forest

Once upon a time, the lands of Ay and Ara--regions already flourishing with flora--suddenly became blessed with enchanted fauna of any shape, size, and color you could imagine. Over the years they diversified and dispersed, many finding forever homes and larger pets to be companions for. However, one place in the lands remained reserved for these little critters, but was lost to all maps and knowledge...until today!
Welcome to the Fauna Forest--a place of frolicking, fun, and fauna!
Brought to you by Azi & Darsol (#6879), and which would not have happened if it weren't for Bex (#16)!
Here are some of the fauna* you'll run into amid the trees of the forest:
*Note that all of the fauna are currently classified as collectables so that there's no issue gathering them from the adventure region. Once the region closes, all of these items will be turned into fauna for you and your pets to enjoy.
It appears there are also a small number of fauna-inspired pets roaming the forest!
You might notice that there are less than 20 pets in this region, which is intentional since the spotlight is on fauna. :3
Speaking of the famous little critters, it seems that a few of them have been immortalized in sticker form!
You will encounter piles of stickers in quantities between 1 and 10.
These are account-bound points that will be used in the Seasonal Shop, set to open Friday.
You can see how many points you have at any time by visiting the shop.
Now, before you get out your nets and money lighters and come after me in rage, Azi and I want to stress that this is meant to be a very laid back event. Everything in the shop will be priced to be affordable, and the main things you'll find in the store will be fauna, clothes, and pets.
We also have a few more surprises, but you'll just have to wait and see what those will be!
The Fauna Forest will be open from November 18th - November 24th at 11:59 p.m..
The Seasonal Shop should open on Friday and close on November 25th at 11:59 p.m.

Little Dragon Reminders!

Just a quick reminder that the wonders of Dragon's Canyon will be closing down in a few hours!
Yasu will be closing down the event pretty quickly after 11:59 p.m. tonight, and I will announce our questing winners and details about the Super Speshul Egg tomorrow evening. :3
And as a last little gift, there was a suggestion to turn the adorable baby dragons into HA items, so you can now find those in the Event Shop until tomorrow night at 11:59 p.m.

Castle Princess and Human Avatars

One of our friendlier Tavi dragons is now selling a pretty Castle Princess HA set in the Event Shop.
You can buy the items individually; there's a crown, scepter, dress, and hair.
The Castle Princess set cannot be found in any of the eggs, so if you want one or more pieces from this set, be sure to snag them from the shop! They'll be available through the end of the event.
11/17 UPDATE: The Castle Princess wearable images should now be working. :)
I also wanted to make a quick Human Avatar announcement!
As a heads up, Yasu is going to be working on the system some time tomorrow, so you may find that your HA is not working or not showing up. This is to be expected, and will be remedied as soon as possible. He's taking the system down to make a few fixes, since some of our new members cannot create HAs or are otherwise having problems with them, and we want to get that straightened out. :3
