It's almost that time of year again - the Black Friday Sale! This year, the sale will run November 19th to November 24th. While we'll have more information for you in regards to the actual sale when it's not so far away, here's some crucial information for those who would like to participate by creating sets:
A set is 5 custom pets with identical edits, all colored uniquely. If your set is accepted, you are also permitted 1 semi-unique that you can turn in at that time or at a later date.
All applications must be PM'd to Mayday Marie (#11) with the following subject line: Black Friday 2020 - [email protected] - please replace the e-mail with your PayPal address.
You must PM Mayday Marie (#11) with a sketch for for approval! If you send her a finished product without doing this first, we do not have to accept it. If you make more sets than the ones we approve you to do, we do not have to accept them.
You must also send Mayday Marie (#11) examples of your shading and coloring, and if you have done any previous sets.
Users may only submit 3 sketches at a time. If more are submitted you will be asked to choose 3 of them to be assessed. Additional sketches will not be assessed until accepted sketches are submitted as complete sets. There will be no exceptions.
All sets should be between 50% - 75%. If your set is spectacular, we will accept less edits.
We are allowing very few silvers! We will not be accepting a dozen Teos that only have the tails left.
All PSDs must be breedable! This means separated edits, shading, highlights, etc. We will not accept pets that are unbreedable, and we will be checking PSDs.
All sets must be finished and the PSDs uploaded by November 12th!
The payment options are as follows:
100 GP + 5 SP paid once the set is finished.
No base pay, however you are granted a 75% unique of any of the exotic genera creatable this Black Friday. (You are welcome to sell this slot as well, however you must do part of the artwork for it.)
1 Black Friday Egg for the $50 Day. If you do two sets, then you can trade both payments in for 1 Black Friday Egg for the first day!
We have also created a Knowledge Base article in regards to the sale. Some of the information is what you see here on the news post, but there is additional information as well, such as how to have your uniques uploaded.

I think I support Pirate's suggestion :3

I'm not sure how limiting the number of sets will make for a greater selection? Issey (Pirate) (#142)
(It's already limited by the number of people willing and able to make sets...)

More people with different art styles would join? That's my assumption. ♑ Voluspa ♑ (#67552)

and what if they don't join in? I'm just not sure why the number of sets from one artist would influence the participation of another? Especially since we don't see the total number of sets from anyone else until the very last few days... Haru (#46917)
Or are you assuming some artists gets turned down by staff if the top sellers are available? I'm pretty sure they (we) only get turned down if their (our) sketches don't cut it...
That said, if Aywas wanted to save money I guess I could understand them putting a cap on how many sets can be submitted for USD payment...

Uh, forget I even said anything. That was just my understanding of Pirate's suggestion.

I mean like, don’t go accepting heaps of sets from everyone - like even the best artists, limit their amount of sets to like three accepted, because overflowing the pot results in poorer sales all around. I didnt say the selection would be greater, i said itd be nice to HAVE greater selection as in be more picky. Mayday sets sold really well (most of them first day sales) which meant way more profitability for the site from day 1 eggs and more profitability for artists getting better bonus. But that was because there were way less pets in the pot!

Praying that the breeding queues come down a bit by BF, as coins/talismans are what I spend all my USD/GP on for the sale, lol! :P Crossing fingers for at least painted coins back by then (or even just for the sale!)

Can we maybe have a bit more selection on the pot this year? Like a limited number of sets per person? Cause the sale in May somehow went really well and I feel it was to do with the total amount :3
