Hello again, Aywas!
After leaving the poll up for the full weekend, waiting until votes slowed and we felt we had gotten as many votes as we could, it's been decided that all Breeding Pendants will become predict-only. We will be giving a grace period of until 12:00 am, August 1st for users to submit any last breedings with the pendants before we turn them over to predicts. If you have a current Pendant breeding in queue, it will not be affected by this change; this decision is only for Pendant breedings going forward starting August 1st.
With this change, however, we wanted to make predictions a little more enticing for our users, so we're announcing updated and new kickbacks!
Some have been updated, such as Breeding Coins going from 10 GP to 25 GP. Some have been added, including Sketch and Scribble which give 7 and 12 GP respectively! None have been lowered, though some remain the same.
We'll be working on including these in the Knowledge Base, so be on the lookout for that! Until then, however, here's the full list of Breeding kickbacks;
• Platinum Breeding Coin/Pendant - 30 GP + Grazelle Sapling
• Alidae Egg, Blind Date, Breeding Coin/Pendant, Eggnog, Dragon Lotus, Evil Breeding Coin/Pendant, Holiday Breeding Coin/Pendant, Neura Embryo, Transitional Fossil Egg - 25 GP
• Scribble Breeding Coin, Smudged Scribble Breeding Coin - 12 GP
• Sketch Breeding Coin - 7 GP
• Metal Breeding Coin/Pendant - 500,000 BP + 5 GP
• Holiday Mistletoe, Lesser Breeding Coin/Pendant, Mininogg, Painted Lesser Breeding Coin, Painted Metal Breeding Coin, Speed Dating Slip - 5 GP
• Rusted Breeding Coin - 3 GP
• Half Lesser Breeding Coin - 2 GP
• Radioactive Breeding Coin/Pendant - 150,000 BP
• Derp Breeding Coin - 60,000 BP
These new kickbacks will take effect immediately!
There will be more announcements forthcoming, but we still need a little bit of time to work them out so that it's fair and benefits everyone, so stay tuned over the next couple of months!

Yeah no. There was a 10 vote difference for having longer wait time with an item in between to make it fair 200 votes to the 99 to have a longer regen time! You need to look at the numbers and realize what people want. You are making pendants useless to people who cannot art.

It’s not useless you could always sell it - there are plenty of people, myself included, who would be happy to buy the pendants haha. Also you can sell slots to people to fund the predictions for the next lot, or trade slots for predictions etc. there is plenty of use still for pendants. I myself am commissioning artists for the lbc predicts I cant be assed doing myself lol

I'm on the side that the poll was unfair in how it was presented.
I'm fairly indifferent either way, being at the point of not caribg and just quitting anyways. BUT, I still feel like as many options as possible should be implemented so people can choose what they want from an extremely pricey item. More trade in options for other pendants, pedict only pendants, gp, sp, regen custom makers, etcetc. Just have as many options as you can for people instead of an all encompassing one that won't suit everyone.

I think the most unfair thing to begin with was the introduction of pendants to the site. I think predict only is the only option that's actually feasible, though I feel for everyone who doesn't feel like they've got an item worth anything now. If I can suggest to those who feel this way, maybe open up a shop selling use slots to people? I'm sure there must be some way to make this a little less of a painful transition.
I have to agree on the RBC ones though - if it's predict only, at least make it a guaranteed not mutant if you wish to predict not a mutant. Otherwise they'll likely clog the queue until ppp every year to get that option.

My issue with selling uses, or rolling for mutant/normal babies, getting PSDs and supplying them ti other artists, finding and paying artists, etcetc is that it all takes time. I don't xare about cost, but I can't invest too much time to do things. This is what makes the pendant useless to me, and yes I can sell the whole thibg to be rid of the burden of using it, but at what cost now? It's not likely to sell for what it would have prior, when people purchased theirs.

I just wanted to point out that pendants are one of those items you actively have to use for quite a while to get the value out of them you put in. Now you're expecting users to put in a lot of time value too they may not have expected, anyone who just bought a pendant from another user that doesn't have that time will now have a very devalued item in their eyes.
I'm inclined to see what else happens still as I'm not disagreeing pendants are not perfect. But I do think more options need to be offered for instant trade ins or for people happy to wait longer for artist breedings they don't have to have a hand in and such overall since this option expects time from users, and that's the only unfair thing I see to expect from people who spent a lot of money and probably time already to get such a rare item.

One more thing......I'm the type of person that usually doesn't say much, doesn't want to create waves, etc.. I'm more go with the flow type.
But after reading all the posts up to here it....it seems to me that when you look at a lot of the changes, this one in particular the site is changing to more of an Artist Site. If you are an artist which I think is Great if you have the talent. (I always look forward to what psd's come out and all the new pets on the Welcome Back page.) I think you all are very talented.
So if you are an artist then this outcome is Really good for you in so many ways.
But for those of us who are not artist's it really sucks for us....
Those of us that are not artist have invested a lot of time & effort in to getting our pendants and now will have to sell slots and buy coins which takes a lot of time or spent the bp\gp to get predicts over and above what we boughtthe pendants for in the first place.
To me it also seems that the people that aren't really happy with this out come are the ones who aren't artist's. Which the site doesn't really seem to care about.
And I also get the impression that the site didn't really want any of the other options anyways. As Kandria (#293) said to Realm......major issue with that option is that it would be the same problem just over a longer time, we'd be in the same situation in 2-5 years again. In other words they wanted Predict Only.

This site has always been very drawn to artists because the unique draws of it rely on unique art supplied by artists. Site pets? Artists needed. Customs? Artists requires. Breeding? Artists required. These artists need to be paid to produce that content else you dont get that content. The issue with pendants is that they kept on churning out breedings for their owners that werent getting the investment back to the site to pay those artists. Therefore they couldnt raise prices to get more artists, and because you dont have more artists to combat the ever flowing pendant breedings - the queue builds up and now artists who enjoy the site thus why they work for it - cant even enjoy site things either because we cant sell coins any more.
So consider it from everyone elses perspectives - you are now on even playing ground with everyone else. Nobody else could have site bred breedings before, only pendant breedings or predict breedings of which predicts are way more available. You guys still have heaps of babies coming in till we fox the queue then you can buy coins when they come back out and get artist babies. You know how you can get those coins? Sell your pendant slots, submit shitty babies just to get the kickback if you cant be bothered to find a buyer, whatever. Or sell your pendant. Thatll buy several years worth of coins once theyre back out. At this stage no pendants have been sold for like half a decade, so if youve been using them which is why the queue is backed up, youve more than likely made back what you spent already and you still have the potential to get extras like??? Its not a loss my man. It just means everyone else can have stuff too rather than just the few users who have pendants. Spread it around a little jees
