A Few Custom Customs For You To Make Customary

Site Update

Hey guys, just a few quick notes from myself and the custom team:

1. Please submit your design to the Crystal Check or the Custom Queue - not both. More often than not this causes double the work to be done which means that our time is spent less productively.

2. When submitting a Crystal Check please consider linking the PSD to your design. This makes the CC process much faster, and much more accurate, especially in the case of transparencies.

3. If you have a valid crystal check please add the link to the notes when you submit the pet. At the least make note of which user checked the design - knowing that it's been checked with no other information does not help us. Again, this stops twice the work being done for one design which can be better spent utilised else-wise. it also allows your pet to be accepted faster, as when running through the queues to collect images for checking, pre-CC'd designs will be immediately accepted.

4. Please do not link previously accepted pets. Previously accepted pets are not the equivalent of a Crystal Check, and have no bearing on whether your design will be accepted. Unless the design is on record - either via CC or our personal drives - the design will need to be checked.

Thank you for your patience while it's been a difficult few months, work on the queues is under way and hopefully we'll be in a better place re: waiting times very soon.

*thumbs up* It's good to have these reminders out, I know they help you guys a lot so it's helpful to have you guys mention it when things slow down.
Not sure if you know the answer, Eve, but I'm curious to know how the predicts for PPP stand? Not trying to sound impatient, and I know you guys allowed a two-week resubmission for errors, just watching for an update. Thanks!

Stein (#103) - I'm afraid I have absolutely 0 to do with breeding or PPP so I can't answer your questions, I'm so sorry!

I added the PSDs to the notes. I just feel bad because someone ruined my sorting in my dropbox on the computer so everything got grouped together and I've been slowly figuring out what everything is so I may bomb you with a few more. :(

Stein (#103) - I managed to get hold of Kita, and they said they'll be working on those at the weekend!

Kanga & Tricky (#1869) - Aww, I know how much Dropbox has messed us all around - and manage to find new ways to boggle our brains with each subsequent update we didn't need or ask for <<;; XD;

Thank you! As someone new to the whole custom process, it's all still a bit foggy for me, but I'm glad to have things cleared up somewhat. I probably would have submitted edited work to CC AND the custom queue.... so, happy to know that I don't need to do that.

Eve (#2775) Oh awesome, thanks to both of you! I hate to bug you guys about that kind of stuff, I'm just super excited XD

I just wish for those who had a custom rejected it didn't take two months + for them to be accepted. Talking about the fax pen queue. I know it was my fault for not making sure with 100% certainty that they pets matched, but now I get to wait even longer? Frustrating on both ends I am sure.

Ceci {Treats!} (#23041) - Waits aren't usually this long, but sadly I've had an extremely trying year, and as I am the only person working customs (with relief from Kita on crystal check between her other demanding jobs both on and offline) this has a knock on affect. I've tried to recruit help, Kai has tried to recruit help for me, but the fact of the matter is no one wants to work with customs because they know how people who do are treated and don't want to deal with it. I don't blame them, frankly, but it does leave me in the position that I can't be sick without it having a serious knock on affect on site, and sadly that's something that neither myself nor any other staff can fix for me. I do loathe that things can take more time than they should, but when I'm powerless to change that there is nothing I can do but offer an explanation as to why that has come to be.

Are people not allowed to work on the customs queue anonymously? I can see that with the way the internet is, people can be treated really poorly for just being the bearer of bad news, or just for doing their job, but it feels like a necessary role like customs should be able to be handled with some degree of anonymity.

Again, apologies for my lack of general knowledge, very new to all this ^^;

Eve (#2775) I agree with infinipede, if there was an option for being anonymous I'd consider it. Like, you would still be able to see who did a ruling or whatever but the peeps wouldn't know who did.
