A gazillion apologies to everyone - I accidentally slept through most of Valentine's Day =O

I love the CHD Hair Clip. A friend of mine IRL lost her 2 month old heart warrior in November, so it is very near to my heart. The statistic is that 1 in 5 babies born with CHD don't see their first birthday.

OH wow. I've never known there was a day for congenital heart disease. been living with it for 31 years and never knew there was a day for it. XD NEATO!

Well, from what I've researched, Valentine's day is CHD day, the week up to valentines (8th-14th) is CHD week and all month of February is CHD awareness month. It's easier to just go for one day, though. ;)
And really I hope you won't have the same problems as my partner. He got surgery as a toddler (which saved his life), and now - 30+ years later - the results of that surgery just no longer works for any of the people that got them. Heart transplants seem to be the way to go for this bunch of former CHD children.

Thank you Gwennafran for the heart ribbon. We lost my sister Monica several years ago to the defect when she was just a little over 2 weeks old. This is something that has affected us in many ways because it is hereditary and heart problems seem to be running in the family.We didn't know there is actually an awareness day for it. My HA will wear the ribbon in honor of my sister and everyone affected by it.
