Please Be Careful

Site Update

We have been encountering a rising number of scams associated with trading with other game sites ("cross site trading"). To ensure your protection, please be careful when trading with other sites.

- If you are SENDING Aywas Stuff to another Aywas account for something offsite, you are fully protected by Aywas Staff. In the event the other party does not send your goods offsite, you can come to us and we will reverse the transaction so you get your Aywas stuff back.

- If you are SENDING Other Site Stuff offsite in exchange for Aywas Stuff, you are not protected by Aywas Staff. The player you sent the stuff to on the other site may not have the goods to give you on Aywas. In addition, there have been incidents of purchasing GP and then chargebacking it after spending it on other site goods - and that results in the "illegitimate GP" being removed from the site (and your account, if you traded with them).

If you play any games where the staff does not recover your items from scams, please be EXTRA CAREFUL with your trades. Trade only with players you know very well and that you are certain will not scam you.

I have never run into any problems with crosssite trading, but thanks for this info, it's very useful!

Worrying that the problem is bad enough that this needs to be said in a news post. I've been trading my FR stuff for Aywas. I think I'll stick to items and pets from now on and skip the GP offers. Thanks for the heads up!

I've never had an issue either - thankfully, but I appreciate the information just in case!

Yeah, unfortunately I'm having to reverse a number of trades due to the issue today and I feel bad for the players who were scammed :(

I've never run into any issues with this, but I'm glad for the warning!

I suspect this may have to do with a player I reported recently. -_-

...yep! https://www.aywas.com/forum/topic/2004472699/

Honestly, Aywas' policy of posting ban reports openly is one part of why I've been becoming more invested in this site - it's good policy and prevents an atmosphere of fear and confusion.

I've made quite a few treasure to GP trades as well back when Flight Rising was new with no problems. But then, at that time there was a lot more regular players (with low numbered Aywas accounts) just wanting more treasure to buy dragons.

(This user did not succeed in scamming me, BTW, but tried to ask that I send them a very expensive FR item for a hefty quantity of GP. I checked their history, found that their accounts were new within the last two weeks both here and on FR, and responded back, "Send me half payment first, please, as you have very little transaction history" - and got no response, so reported them because the whole thing seemed kind of hinky.

I've always found it a good policy to check people's participation in trade threads and see if they have a history of successful business done with other users.)

I've never bothered to say anything because the userbase here has always been so honest, but in light of this maybe I should. Is there any chance we can get the pet trade notifications fixed? I've always used the pet gift function because the notifications were reliable but if people are starting to encounter scams more often maybe it's time to switch to the trade function. The only problem is the notifications are a bit temperamental and don't always come through.

Ugh. I honestly was gonna do cross site trading but I recently got back into Aywas and decided not to. Scams are sadly a part of every site... But it sucks that it got to the point where it needed to be mentioned.

Although, I didn't realize we were ALLOWED to do cross site trading. I kind of thought that was a no go on this site, considering how plentiful our rules are.
