'10. Team leaders have the power to kick any player off their team. The team member's contributions will NOT be removed from the team unless done so by the team leader, nor will the player who was kicked off receive any prizes if the team wins a placing.' I trust my team, but I don't agree with this. I see a lot of drama and some real legit issues from allowing them to keep people's work.

That has been the ruling for previous Scavenger Hunts and it's not changing.

Still super sad that I can't participate on a team due to being out of state camping for a big part of the week :C Hopefully I'll be able to help others out in some way. I know all you guys on teams will have a lot of fun!

Chaos, it's a tough point but I tend to agree with you, unless the efforts involved are a joint project. strictly speaking, unless there's some kind of appeals process, theoretically someone could have their team complete a ton of tasks then dump everyone and reap all the bennies themselves...

ChaosAzeroth (#43055) - The problem with large, collaborative competitions is that it any aspect can be abused. In this case there is a sure level of responsibility. A team leader MUST be trusted to NOT boot a player without cause, but you know exactly who to raise a case against if they do abuse their booting ability. Likewise, a player is trusted to be a contributing member without the need to be removed as an issue.

Drama can arise, yes. By laying out a ground rule now you prevent people who would otherwise choose to go in with ill intent from playing one hopes.
