The net can be used forever until it breaks. It will NOT break until you catch at least 3 pets, and then the chances of it breaking is only 8%!

Bought a net used it to catch three pets, it broke and now I can't catch anything(this started 5 hours ago.)

Is the normal catch ratio ALWAYS 30% or does it decrease after so many caught?
I only ask because I am now on my 40th pet which I have been unable to catch in a row...
