Policy Change Poll

Pets

Currently, the on-site policy regarding mistakes is that:

If the administration or programmers cannot reproduce a "glitch" that irreversibly changed your pet, you will not get it back, unless it's a custom.

Currently, people who buy GP are arguing that if they paid GP to buy their pet, like a Monthly or a Special Edition, and make a mistake with a potion (for example), they should get the pet back because it was bought with real money.

This would work like this: if you have donated and bought the pet through the GP store, you have the right to have your pet changed back if something happens to it by user mistake (NOT glitch, glitches are always refunded). If you didn't, you don't.

So, the user who gains a Monthly Pet/Super Rare/Limited through Rogue, Hippie Mushroom, Glittering Rock, Eggs, the Wild, etc and accidentally change it are SOL because it wasn't bought through the GP Shop.

My stance against this is, in essence, I don't want to discriminate between the user who earns their rare pet through site means to the user who buys their pet in the GP shop. So they both get the same response: "Sorry, user error, not a glitch."

But I'm willing to change the policy to make special conditions for users whose pets they accidentally messed up, if they bought them through the GP Shop--if that's what the majority thinks is fair and right.

Policy Change?
Yes, if the pet is bought through the GP shop, user mistakes that change that pet should be refunded
No, all treatment should be equal (and for god's sake, put up a confirmation page!)
I am ambivalent to this policy.

Even if all treatment isn't equal, there should still be a confirmation page.

0: thanks for making this poll. Hopefully a good conclusion will be made. xD

Either way, yes or no, I think a confirmation page is the way to go xD

Personally, I think people just need to double-check which pet they are using the things on before they do something. Check, check, and check again before you use an item to make ABSOLUTELY sure that pet is the one you want to use.

It WOULD be nice, though, if, like with Chaos's reset and whatnot, there was an "Are you sure you want to do this?" before it happens. To give the users one last chance to make sure it is the pet they want to change.

YES, FOR MY SAKE, PUT UP A CONFIRMATION PAGE :0 And as a suggestion, possibly put up a picture of your active pet on that page, so as to eliminate people whining about how they didn't notice because they skipped over the text saying, "Are you SURE you want to use ___ potion on ____ pet?".

'Tis their own fault... Which is harsh. But still.

Well yeah a confirmation page will come XD

I voted no, although I do think it would be nice for people who have had this happen to get their pets fixed up until you add a confirmation for using such an item on a pet. Because not everyone is/was aware that you can't choose the pet to use a potion on.

But if you put a confirmation page up then there's really no excuse.

Don't really care, though I know I'd be super pissed if I paid real money for a petsite and ended up losing it. So I'll vote for yes for now - do change them back.

At least, until we get a confirmation page. Then, I say it's their fault, end of story.

The Argument that people constantly make is that they didn't know. And frankly I don't think that is ANY excuse. I knew when I used my first pet altering item that it would work on my ACTIVE pet without someone telling me.

If you can't do it for everyone you shouldn't do it for anyone. The end.
