We have tentatively added this item:
Genus Changing Amulet
1,500,000 BP in the BP Shop
What does this item do? It's been requested a couple of times over the life of Aywas. This allows you to switch a pet's genus to another one (eg, change a Reve into a Melo) and submit the new custom art. Basically, it allows you to do such things as buy old customs and redraw their design and edits onto a new genus.
Note that this amulet only allows common genus changes (eg: Reve to Melo) and only in the same region (EG: Ryba to Finx [Ara], Rogr to Melo [Ay]).
Please note that the design, edits, and colors must be the same, even if you are redrawing them on another genus base. Check with Skitty in the "What color crystal is this?" thread if you're unsure and show both the original and the new.
This item may be removed from the shops if we have trouble with people submitting pets trying to get around the rules above. Please also try to check with the artist of your custom if you can to make sure your genus change is okay with them; don't step on any toes.

We batted around the idea of custom items for a bit and decided to give it a try. A custom item allows you to request our site artist to draw you an item image of your description, then the item is placed on the site as a collectible, a fauna, or a food item.
You get ten copies of your item after it's added to the site, and only you get those items (with the exception of things like Santas Bags which allow any item to be gotten) because it becomes Admin Distributed (though you could request it to be common or something if you wanted).
We're tentatively pricing it at 20 GP to see what kind of response there is. :)

Just a small note to remind you that requests for the old Soli line-art close on January 14th, 11:59:59 AST.
Perhaps there are one or two colourations you just can't decide whether or not to switch? Fear not! Have a gander at the Old Line-art Colouration Guide now stickied in the Help forum, and throw those pets my way.

We have added a new section under the "Sales and Breeding Rules" section of the TOS...
"- fulfill all agreements (such as art) with another user within one month unless agreed to by the other user"
What does this mean? This protects the customer from never-completed art commissions or empty promises, ensuring that your money won't be tied up forever with slow art, auctions that go on forever, etc.
If a commission (or anything, rather) isn't completed within one month, the paying user has the right to request a refund. This is, of course, only if the paying user wants one - they might be willing to wait. If so, it is best to record those agreements via PM (EG: both users agree to a three month deadline, for example).
This also puts the max amount of time a "no end date" auction can go on to 1 month. A seller can set a longer auction if they want, but that longer end date must be on the thread at its start so all bids are made with that knowledge.
This rule becomes enforced if another user refuses the refund despite the month point having elapsed, or refuses to complete an auction that had no specified end date. In that case, contact a moderator to handle the situation.
Always remember that the most important and binding thing is to have both parties agree to particular terms of sale.

Phanto Revamp + Feb Contests + Lionfish!

First of all, the Phanto revamp is now finished! This means that you have until February 9th to request your free change-backs from Visark (#185). That is also the deadline to submit any old-line Phanto customs you have not yet made. After the 9th, you will no longer be able to do so.
Second, this month I remembered to get the GP Shop and BP Shop contests up and running at a reasonable time! Isn't that nice?
Third: More Lionfish!
As usual, the first 10 people to post what color lionfish they want (doesn't have to be exact, as long as I can tell what you mean) for each color will win one!
The same contest will repeat at 9:00 AM on the 10th. Good luck!
And finally, since there has been some confusion on the issue, I would like to clarify that Quols will be a common species when they get voted into Ay/Ara.
