Character Development Contest
Comics
Do you happen to have a few hundred loud, babbling characters around your head? Ever actually wanted to hug them and let them squish? How about just leave them on a shelf to stare down at you? Well, we have a contest for you!
Here's what you have to do:
Create a profile for a character that belongs to you and post it in the event thread. The character can be new or one that you've used before, but they have to have a distinct voice and personality. Winners will be chosen based on how well developed and how clear the voice of the character is.
The character you use must be an animal, or have a quad form provided for reference.
You will need to provide a visual reference for the character, however, this visual reference is not for judging but for the artist's reference for your prize. It can be done by you, or by someone else so long as they are credited.
Prize?
Five winners will be chosen to receive a custom plush from contracted artist, Gypmina. Some samples of her work can be found on her DA here.
End date?
This contest will end Tuesday, October 22 at 11:59 pm.

Story Writing Contest
Contests
Each story contest will have a theme and basic rules, but other than that you can write in whatever way your heart desires! Unlike the Story Game, this contest empowers you to write on your own instead of relying on someone else's content.
Contest 1 Theme: Write a short story (1000-5000 words) about the events surrounding the "Please Return Fluffy" note.
If you don't know who Fluffy is, you need to spend some more time in Adventure. *wink*

Ay vs. Ara Results
Contests

Congratulations, Ara and team!
Your well-played game has earned you the loyalty of the land and given Ara a spotlight many didn't initially think it would see. Awesome job!
Team Ay, we still kicked butt and you guys should give yourselves a pat on the back! Great job!

Seriously though, every single Ay vs. Ara participant made a huge impact on the site in a good way.
Want to know just how big?
Together, we took a whopping 561,203 items out of circulation.
I think our database took a breath of relief. XD
And, best of all, Ay and Ara feel nice and replenished!

Ay vs. Ara + Lightning!

We're in the home stretch of Ay vs. Ara!
Both lands are swelling with energy, but who will be the victor?
Can Ara hold onto its lead, or does Ay have something up its sleeve?
We will find out after the lightning rounds!
From 9:00 p.m. til midnight, instead of the lands asking for one item every hour, they will ask for one item every 30 minutes.
Let's see what we can do!

When Dew and I get married, I am totally gonna hit up Aywas for all our cake needs.

The birthday-themed pets and HA items were due to be removed last night, but I'll give you some extra time to snag those. You technically have until 11:59 p.m. tonight to grab them, though in all likelihood I'll remove them when I get home from work tomorrow. :)

I am selfishly very excited about this next little update.
1 Month Upgrade Pendants are now usable from your inventory!
Up until this point, I've been activating them manually and it's a lot more tedious than you might imagine, so I am super happy about this--and if you use these, I'm sure you are, too! :D
(I'm still manually doing Forever Upgrades, if you are fortunate enough to obtain one. Yasu's working on those too, though!)

Spooky Forest Updates + Reminders!

The Howling Orimi is signaling that more pets have been added to the Spooky Forest!
The Museum is now offering a Spooky Forest Collection! If you turn in one of each of the items it asks for, you will receive a Shiny Cauldron:
This special cauldron will be a necessary ingredient in our upcoming Cauldron custom feature, but because we can't give away thousands of customs, if you end up not using/selling your Shiny Cauldron, it will work like the Star Ticket. At the end of the month, we will be hosting drawings for cool prizes, and having a Shiny Cauldron in your inventory will automatically enter you!
The Designated Driver Reve is here to remind you that you have until 11:59 p.m. tonight to get your vote in for which free monthly custom you want!

Ay vs. Ara Gameplay

Roughly a year ago, the world of Ay fell into Famine's grasp.
The idea of famine itself as a curse seemed to be the most benevolent outcomes of the apocalypse: Conquest and War were plundering and violent, and Death was too final, but maybe you could avoid Famine.
The change wasn't obvious at first. Famine did not have the brazen swiftness of the other horses, and consequently proved to wreak the most havoc on Ay--and by extension, Ara--quietly. As sources of plant life began to wither and pools of water receded, denizens tried moving away from the decay, squandering resources and facilitating the horse's reign. Patches of Ay essentially began to die, and there was little anyone could do to stop it.
Ara emerged after Ay had already been afflicted with famine. While it enjoyed pockets of fresh air, the threat to this new world was palpable. A refuge for those fleeing the world of Ay, Ara quickly became susceptible to the inevitable presence of relentless disease, its food supply fleeting. In actuality, not only was Famine a force that stole life energy, but in some ways it was all the other three horses combined.
One year later, we have the chance to help the two worlds recover.
In Ay vs. Ara, you are a loyal dweller of your team region and will be summoned by the earth to provide the items each respective place needs to be refueled.
Each hour, your region will ask for a different item. During that hour, your objective is to turn in as many of that item as you are willing to part with. The more you turn in, the more points you will accumulate for yourself and your team.
Points are based on rarity. Our regions are humble and will only be asking for r10-r40 items. r10 items are worth 1 point each, r20 items are worth 2 points each, etc. The regions will be asking for the same items so that one area doesn't have a huge advantage or disadvantage over another, but this means you'll have to scramble for the items in demand!
So, what do you get out of all of this? -- Other than the satisfaction of helping out Ay or Ara and the thrill of competition (and bragging rights if you win). The points that you earn will be used as currency in the Ay vs. Ara edition of the Seasonal Shop! To clarify, being on the winning team does not impact your prizes since your points are based on individual contributions.
Time is of the essence: you will have 48 hours to help your team.
The last hour of the event is from 11:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. on October 7th (Sunday night).
Get ready to help your teammates out and show some Ay and Ara pride!

The event should start at 12:00:01 a.m. (in just about an hour) if you guys don't lag the site too much... XD

Note: Everything is run from the main Ay vs. Ara page, so that's where you will go to see what item you need, for turn-ins, tc.

New Feature
Over the next twenty four hours or so, some Amazon gift cards are going to make their debut in the Pumpkin Patch. Good luck with opening one with a gift card in it :)
Note: they're not all going in at the same time, so don't try the number guessing, lol!
