When two worlds collide... there are awesome prizes!
The Ay vs. Ara Seasonal Shop is now open!
On that note, prices are based on average overall point totals and were designed so that everyone at every tier can take home something fun and valuable without anyone running away with a crazy game-changing advantage.
We have a lot of new items to take a look at, so let's begin with an Aywas staple--potions!
Above is the Ay Potion and Ara Potion. Each contains four exclusive pets native to its region!
That means when you use the Ara Potion, for example, your pet will randomly be changed into one of four specific Ara pets that you cannot buy in the shop! Here's one pet from each potion (you can find the others in the Aywapedia):
Hopefully these colorations look somewhat familiar to you, considering what they're based on! *wink*
Here we have the Worlds Collide Potion, which contains all of the buyable Ay vs. Ara Seasonal Shop pets. If you don't have enough for all of the pets or you love a good gamble, this bottle might be the one for you!
While these Phoenix Tree Roots clearly are not filled with liquid, they are a chance pet-related item. These are essentially a ONE USE Miniature Phoenix Tree; you can apply these to a TRE and will then hatch a random AD pet! No charges, no regening, but a fun item to take a risk on. :3
If potions aren't dangerous enough for you, then you might enjoy our new Adventure items!
The Ara Torch and Ay Torch are not only cool souvenirs from the smackdown and nice testaments to your team, but they also double as weapons with fire and burn resistance!
For all you dirty thieves out there, we have added the wildly popular suggestion of a Lock Pick to our equipment repertoire. This item has a 24-hour NO BREAK period and increases your chances of picking the lock on a treasure chest by a whopping 20%! We do not encourage a life of crime, so after this 24 hour period of plundering fun, the Lock Pick will have a 15% chance of breaking.
The lovely Leaf Whistle is the younger sibling of the Leaf Harmonica. It works in exactly the same way--that is, it increases your chances of encountering pets you don't already own in Adventure--but only for 24 hours. Like the Lock Pick, after the no-break time, it has a 15% chance of breaking.
Now, if the idea of roaming around in Adventure doesn't tickle your fancy, we have some items for more relaxing enjoyment.
Foodie lovers and drink aficionados might appreciate this spread:
From alcohol to hunger and energy food, these items will make great, inexpensive treats for your pets or nice collectables!
For our resident Fauna lovers, we have two new Ara- and Ay-themed pets for your pets! Meet the Orb Creature and Crystal Creature!
I am really excited to talk about this next item--the Key to the Stars.
This item is usable from your inventory and will unlock the Lunar Meteor site theme.
Guys, this is going to be a thing. DO YOU KNOW HOW EXCITING THIS IS?!
Yes, this means you can decide if you want your site background to be your current Adventure location, or an unlocked theme of your choice! (Account - Settings - Edit Account - Site Theme Settings.) We will definitely be utilizing the potential of this brand new feature as time goes on! I really hope you enjoy it. :3 And, best of all, at 5 points, the item is inexpensive enough for you to hopefully snag one for yourself and a few friends.
But wait! We still have some neat items to see!
If you consider yourself an Aywas pro or think you could use some pointers, then dress your HA in the clothes from the Aywas Schoolhouse Wardrobe!
Here's a preview of some of the items so you can get an idea of the style. All items are male and female compatible and there's a lot of unisex mix-and-match options!
Two items that are not included in the wardrobe are the following shirts:
The Ay and Ara T-shirts are 1 point each and are great mementos from the event that let you show your world pride! (Yes, they are HA-wearable.)
While we are offering a lot of affordable items, there are a few in higher tiers that I'd like to show you too.
The Cloner Talisman has 5 charges, and each will give you a Claw Cloner.
Similarly, the Glittering Talisman has 5 charges, and each will give you a Glittering Rock.
The rarest prize we are offering is the Magic Custom Trove, which was developed from a user suggestion.
This shiny item is our newest breeding add on. When you use this item in a hybrid BC breeding, your offspring will be made on alternate hybrid lines! The caveat with this, of course, is that you have to pick a pairing that will produce a hybrid that actually has alternate lines. We'll be working on adding more alt hybrid line sets. :3
And, last but not least, of course we have a plethora of pets to choose from!
BUT ERI, you say, wildly stamping your feet.
ARA WON, WHY ARE THERE SO MANY AY PETS?!?!? THE INJUSTICE!
Well now, I'm glad you brought that up!
Since Ara won, we will be having a mini explosion of (mostly) Ara pets into Adventure just after Halloween for everyone to enjoy. :3
Seasonal Shop Tips
There are a lot of ways to strategize when playing a game, and while I don't want to tell you how to play or enjoy Aywas, I thought I would give you a few quick tips that help me!
- if you have limited points, buy what you can afford that isn't easily obtainable through another method. (Remember, there are lots of ways to obtain pets!)
- invest in "exclusive" items--aka, things that you don't think will be readily re-released.
- buy what you'll use! If you're an adventure-a-holic, you most likely won't want to spend all your points on clothes and fauna.
- buy what you like. <3 If you hate gambling, potions probably aren't your thing. If you LOVE that Gemberry Pie but don't want to feed it to your pet, who cares? Pretty up your inventory.
- don't have any points because you couldn't participate? Scour the forums for some deals! Chances are, people will be looking to replenish their hoards or sell off extra items, and the good ol' pet and item obtaining methods aren't going anywhere.

Seasonal Shop Reminder

If you stalk the Welcome Back page, you probably noticed that quite a few new pets and items have appeared. And if you don't, well, now you're aware. XD
I am playing around with things for the Ay vs. Ara prizeshop--things that may or may not start appearing in the Seasonal Shop shortly.
Do NOT purchase anything from the shop until I officially announce that it's open.
If you buy something before this announcement, you are doing so at your own risk, and I will not refund items/pets/points if you regret a purchase. All items and pets are subject to price and function changes prior to the shop's official release.
We have a lot of new players and returning old players, so I wanted to make sure that this policy was clear beforehand. Thanks! :3
EDIT: So apparently I'm going to be a huge tease. 8D We need to finish up one of the items planned for release, so we're aiming to open the shop on the evening of the 24th. STARE AND DROOL IN THE MEANTIME. <3 No touchy. |:

Crystal Thread Assistants!

Hey guys! The long-awaited Crystal Thread Assistants are officially working now--Please welcome Nyxie (#162), Falen (#922), and Esaria (#23447) as your new custom overlords helpers!
There were a lot of very good applications (far more than I expected!) which is part of the reason it took so long for me to get through these. Once we've got things running smoothly, I may be selecting a few more people.
Assistants mean that there will need to be some tweaks to the way the Crystal Thread is run. From the user side, not much will be different--as before, the Custom Updates thread will be used to post notifications when pages are done. However, I'd still encourage you to read over the first post of both the Updates thread and the Crystal Thread itself to make sure you understand everything.
The main difference from before is this: If you're posting a followup question (for example: "This was ruled as Gold, but I removed the wings. Is it Blue now?"), you need to include the name of the assistant you were working with previously at the top of your post so that the same person can also answer you followup question. This will help minimize confusion and ensure your rulings are as consistant as before.
Additionally, I'd like to give you a small rule update: From now on, we will be weighting pose change edits slightly more heavily. They're still allowed, but because they're so hard on the breeding artists, we'd like to discourage the more extreme ones.

BREEDING SEASON!
You will find these items for sale in the GP Shop until October 31st at 11:59 p.m.! Originally hybrid breeding season was going to be the typical week, but Frey is making me give you guys a few extra days because she's nice or something. <3 (And the queue is lookin' pretty darn good!)
I will also be adding various breeding items to the Admin Auctions throughout the week. :3 So keep an eye out!

Mistake fixers!
The Breeding Mistakes thread is looking a little lonely as of late. We're in need of some dedicated fixer-uppers for some of the errors that come by the thread. Ideally I'm looking to hire about 2-3 people for this that I can get to regularly get some of these images fixed up.
Candidates should be able to work their way around Photoshop, and show skill in both coloring and editing. Some babies you'll have to completely redo sometimes, and others you'll need to redraw or recolor. Payment ranges depending on the level of fix, with smaller ones being 1 GP each and larger fixes ranking higher.
If you think you could handle something like this, send an email titled 'Breeding Mistake Fixer App' to [email protected] with the following information:
1. Your username.
2. How long have you played Aywas?
3. Have you submitted any site colorations/sold premade custom designs/have a shop on-site?
4. Link to at least 2 examples of colorations and 2 examples of customization done. Breeding predict examples are a plus.
The above questions are to get to know you a bit better since this is a trusted position requiring access to our breeding email.
Remember too that you can still apply for other breeding positions by checking out the Breeding Chat thread, all applications are posted there!

Famine's Potion Brewing

Someone is up to no good again.
Famine has curiously opened up a little potion brewery here, where you can come up with creepy concoctions by turning in your garden harvest!
These potions have varied uses; all do something different. Some have healing properties, others will transform your pet entirely. Rumor has it that each one of these potions is made with part of Famine's DNA, so beware when using one! (You can find out exactly what they do by reading up on them here.)
I will spill the secret of the Blue Eye of Famine, though! Contained within that potion is this lovely AD Unus:
